POSTS STORIES REELS
25 years ago today, @Shakira released “Ojos Así” as a single - an unparalleled fusion of rock, pop, and Middle Eastern music. The song that changed my life by sparking my interest in video editing, which is now my career. To celebrate the anniverary, I’m putting myself out there in a whole new way by dancing to a brand new mix of the song at the very spot where its iconic music video was filmed in 1999. While this may not be perfect in a technical sense, it’s my expression and it’s fun, and I hope you all enjoy it. 8 years ago tonight, I went to a drizzly Times Square for a date with a cute fellow nerd I met on Tinder. There wasn’t really a plan beyond a late night midtown stroll while talking and getting to know each other. That meeting resulted in countless unforgettable memories, the most unending fluttering of butterflies, the most meaningful undying support, and the most beautiful of ongoing loves. Through the best and worst of times, @joshsquash729 has always been there for me, and I truly don’t know what I’d do without him, especially over the last particularly stressful couple years as the world has been on fire in so many ways. His radiant kindness, his sharp humor, his stunning green eyes, his smile that lights up the room… he’s truly the joy of my life, and I can’t wait for what’s ahead for both of us. Happy anniversary, Boyo! I love you so much! 😘🤗😍🥰❤️😽🫶🏻 Here’s a small handful of lovely moments from the past year! by @rpvee1

@Shakira’s #LMYNLWorldTour has been such a dream to experience, especially the incredible Arab-trap remix of #OjosAsí that I couldn’t resist finally doing a dance to! Last night’s show was spectacular, and I’m so excited for tonight’s! Cheers to round 13! ❤️🐺💎 #LMYNLWorldTourLA #LMYNLWorldTourLosAngeles by @rpvee1
Another wonderful anniversary for the books! Cheers to number seven! Love you, Boyo. @joshsquash729 😘🫶🏻 #anniversary #7thanniversary by @rpvee1
Seven years ago tonight, I met a guy for a first date in a misty and refreshingly brisk Times Square. The plan was low key - walk and talk, enjoy some fresh air and conversation. Within minutes, we were answering each-other’s obscure Star Wars trivia and matching our levels of nerdiness. Within an hour or two, we’d settled on a bench outside a closed down building (which has since become a French restaurant we visit every anniversary). After over four hours, a spark was clearly lit. The seven years since then have been full of the biggest laughs, the tightest hugs, the tingliest butterflies, the warmest heart, the most caught tears, the best adventures, the most complete understanding, the absolute perfect company… the list is endless. Boyo - the light you’ve brought to my life is beyond measure. In many ways, the fact we’re celebrating seven years feels surprising because life without you feels like a whole other century ago. I can’t wait for whatever is ahead for both of us. I love you so much! Happy anniversary, babe. 😘🤗😍🥰❤️😽🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 As usual, enjoy highlights from our past year together - from simple weekends together exploring the City or going nerdy shopping, to fantastic adventures and artistic expressions. ❤️ #boyfriends #anniversary #gayanniversary #gaynerd #gaynerds #nycgay #gaynyc by @rpvee1
(Realized I never finished my 2024 recap, so doing that real quick today. 😅) December was all about great vibes with great people! Of course, there was cherished time with @joshsquash729 and Garrus, a heartwarming holiday trip to Josh’s family in Kansas, a needed visit from @harelglazer, a triumphant finale for @ohhey_brandon in @titaniquemusical, a two minute cherished hug with @mgscottwriter, hilariously fun outings with @bluedyegirl and @bleuteague, and a wonderful holiday hang with @tremcleod_, @garrett_19, @rubeology, and more! Plus Josh and I caught the epic @sweptawaymusical, @davidyazbek celebrated Dead Outlaw at @54below, @frereslazour put on a hilariously campy and off the rails Nativity play, @to_die_for_duva performed a wonderfully touching and funny one woman show with some epic Shakira tributes, I got to take home a piece of the Times Square ball, and @mr.nickluis’ “Pansy Craze” was a fascinating flashback to days of old with an incredible cast, including Josh and @denizecinette! All in all 2024, was full of cherished times with dear people, and plenty of epic music. But that’s not to say it was all roses. While I chose to focus on the good in these summary posts, there were still plenty of difficult times, particularly in my career as my industry continued to suffer (and still does), resulting in months without a job. And while I’m starting 2025 once again in unemployment land, I’m committed to make this year a good one in all respects - fingers crossed! ❤️🤞🏻🙏🏻 by @rpvee1
(Realized I never finished my 2024 recap, so doing that real quick today. 😅) November brought more incredible music! After six years, I finally saw Rahim Redcar (@christineandthequeens) again! Plus the Habibi Kings rocked the Roxy once again, joined by the incredible @hey_buddy6, @musicianjessecook returned to NYC with his incredible world music fusion, @frereslazour’s “We Live In Cairo” brought powerful messages with amazing performances and songs, and @charli_xcx turned Times Square into a rave for 15 minutes! Add in a quick but lovely catchup with @travelsoccerkid1, and some great family time with @sampessin, and you’ve got a great November! (I also realized I forgot to include @kylieminogue’s wonderful album signing in October’s post, so I’m including it here!) by @rpvee1
Another year wrapping up, another round of monthly recaps since I barely posted anything this year. October had a most unexpected surprise as @Shakira and her team came knocking asking if I could create a lyric video for her brand new single, “Soltera”. Professional bucket list dream come true! My thanks to Shak and ShakHQ (especially aaronsnaiderman) for trusting me with with that project. Can’t wait for next time! ❤️ As if that wasn’t enough, another musical queen returned to NYC as @marinadiamandis launched her wonderful poetry collection “Eat The World”. This also allowed for a lovely reunion with @tushietweet, @pissychu, and @vinylgaby! It was so lovely to see Marina for the first time in a bit, and celebrate her art with dear friends. 🥰 Add in a fun weekend getaway with @joshsquash729, @i.am.jesselee, @nathan_pezzotti, and plenty of new friends, an epic @pixieaventura birthday show/celebration, a needed catch up/hang with @mattyjaykay along with @choochoo1308, a quick but great reunion with @everroyale, and a fun night of Greek music from @natasatheodoridou, and you’ve got a wonderful start to Fall 2024! by @rpvee1
