This place was never a spin studio. It was a place to connect with other people and there just so happened to be a room full of bikes. Thank you for an amazing ride❤️ by @rr__philadelphia

After months of going back and forth, I made the excruciating decision to close our studio in Philly. This is something I’ve been considering for a while. One day I wake up and think it’s time and then later that night, I want to keep it going. Although this makes me incredibly sad, I feel comfort in knowing that we left no stone unturned in trying to keep Revel, Revel.

I have had some of my happiest and saddest moments in that studio. I have met some of my best friends and learned how to become an amazing DJ and incredible tambourine player. Since we opened in 2018, many things have evolved. Not only did the fitness industry change drastically, but the city changed, as well as many people’s lives... including mine. I went back to work a full time job and we bought a house at the beach to get out of the city whenever possible. Steve left his job in commercial real estate (because let’s be honest, who is renting office space) and he started a job in New Jersey. Since my job is remote, we decided to start spending more and more time at the beach. We realized how much happier we were and how much the dogs love it (and let’s be honest, that’s all that really matters). As a result, my time in the Philly studio became less and less.

We tried so hard to keep what we built there going, but too many changes have happened around us. With instructors moving out of the city, getting married, getting pregnant, moving on with their lives... it has become more clear that Revel isn’t Revel anymore and I don’t want to just have another spin studio. I know that we could just hire a bunch of new instructors, put all of our classes on class pass and be just fine, that’s not what I built and not how I want to be. I have always believed it’s important to be authentic and do what you believe in. All I ever wanted was to give people a place to make friends, work out and forget life a while (as Billy Joel once said).

I am proud that we are closing because we want to and not because we have to. Our last day will be December 29th with a blow out celebration! Keep your eyes open for more info. ❤️ taken in Revel Ride by @rr__philadelphia
