sometimes we have to mythologize what we’ve lost to understand what it meant to us. flight becomes more than an escape; it becomes a way to remember, to imagine freedom, and to envision a life beyond the limitations of the world as it is. this piece is an exploration of that relationship between imagination and Black cultural memory, and of how the stories we inherit help us make meaning of what we cannot always name.
