It’s been an unthinkable week in #losangeles as we burn down from the east and the west. We lost our landscape, our wildlife, our mountain ranges, our @palicharterhigh school, a majority of our friends and clients lost their homes, and we #realtors have been sleepless trying to help connect/shelter almost 100,000 displaced people into an already scare real estate market. Within two days, with fires raging, desperation forced prices to skyrocket in bidding wars (many fueled by insurance budgets), and too many property owners made their homes available but at illegal premiums, FAR above the allowable increase… and in one nauseating circumstance I encountered, a 400% jack. #WTF

I posted a spontaneous story about it to my account; exhausted, frustrated, pissed, heartbroken, crushed, authentic. And while I usually get a couple hundred peeks, this video went viral. Over a million views in 48 hrs, 25k + shares just from my acct alone, and a whooooole lot of opinions. Suffice to say I wasn’t prepared for this kind of attention or I may have brushed my hair or prepared a bit. Alas. I don’t know this all works, I’m a billion years old.

Aside from being called by NY Times Magazine & Daily Mail, I was featured on @cnn today to share a little bit about the situation with a hope that this spreads awareness to unethical homeowners and/or agents.

That said, I’ve now been flooded with numerous offers of rooms and housing and love from Texas, Florida, Colorado, all over other parts of our beloved #California… our country is strong. And while we have natural disasters occurring across the country simultaneously at the moment, the response I’ve received today enforces the generosity and heart we can share, keeping us all so strong together. We haven’t lost each other.

Thanks for all the love and support, and I’m ready to go back to a normal social media account again. 😵‍💫❤️‍🩹

Not my tightest reel but definitely a tight freakin' week. Thank you to my new bestie Jenn (?!😍😬😂) for the random and impromptu golden hour vineyard glamour shoot! Just a couple of gals out there by themselves, together. "You look so pretty, give me your camera so I can show you." Or something that felt like that. A lot of big beautiful stuff was going on in that moment, in that space, and I'm grateful for the capture and the sovereign smile I feel watching it again. I'll never forget that moment

Last week, I had the honor of being part of the first day of the Habitat for Humanity Community Build in Pacific Palisades. Alongside other Angelino volunteers, wildfire survivors, builders, and community partners, we came together to support morale, offer some love & neighborhood restoration. Volunteering with @habitatla is always such a meaningful reminder that rebuilding is about more than structures. It is about our neighbors, stability, and helping families find their way home. The rebuild of Pacific Palisades is moving, but it is also a powerful reminder that returning home takes time...

The data tells part of the story: more than 560 fire-impacted properties had sold by July, and about 36 homes were fully rebuilt by mid-August. There is momentum, and much work remains. There is a long road ahead, but there is also hope, resilience, and a community that continues to show up. 🤍 Thank you to #habitatforhumanity for setting up shop in town and for the heart-warming opportunity! I cried, and I loved it.

PS: volunteering is cool. Do it. ✌🏼
