It’s #featurefriday once again and todays feature is both good and sad from my perspective

Awesome to see @rs__daz Audi 1.8T swapped mk6 escort van in this issue, a shoot we did not all that long ago

But it’s the last issue of @fastfordmagazine which is incredibly sad.

Ive had many good times working with @denialvibes as editor on this publication and Fast Ford has been the staple Ford mag for many a year so to see it end is really disappointing.

It’s too late for FF but re any other mag title you like to read , please support it by subscribing. If you don’t use it you will lose it.

Custom made driveshafts from @satchellengineering have arrived!

These are made from a much stronger material than the standard shafts a proper job and built to handle the power the van has.

Satchell also pointed out that the standard circlip recess on the original shaft is actually a significant weak point and is positioned in a less than ideal place (red line in the second picture).

They’ve modified the standard CV joints and changed the position of the circlip recess on the new shafts, moving it towards the end of the shaft, as shown in the second picture.

Really impressed with the quality of these.
If you need upgraded drive shafts or custom one offs give them a shout.

Finally got the ball rolling with a pair of custom made drive shafts for the van. Satchell Engineering will be making a pair of custom made shafts. We have decided to go for the ultra high strength 300m material which is used in motorsport and aerospace applications. Which will be a lot stronger so shouldn’t have any snapping again. Will also have some new inner and outer cv joints fitted. Hopefully I will get them back and fitted in time for retro rides event at Prescott Hill climb as got a little track action planned. by @rs__daz

I promised myself to not get carried away when I did street weekend and to enjoy the van for what it is. We finished 105 out of 168 cars which is great (But it could be better next time) Ive already started to make a list of what I can improve on . When you go racing you realise its not that fast. For a start we got the shafts out and will get some stronger custom made items done by Satchell Engineering as I broke one on the last day. The TA Front coil overs will be upgraded as they are only a real basic coilover. Then I wanna get a proper Diff fitted in the gearbox as this will massively help things 😎.
