Made these stabilizer plates for mounting the Ground Control ice frames to my Standard boots

The frames are supposedly UFS out of the box, but at least with my boots they weren’t flush with the soulplate—meant there was a good amount of flex under load which is of course NOT GOOD for energy transfer and edge control

Adding the plates ensures that gap is properly filled so the boot-to-frame connection is as solid as possible

Reworked the Framework Jorts design to add some extra length and width to the legs 🧙🏽‍♂️

Adequate knee coverage? One can hope 🙏🏽

One year later and the follow-up is here: ULTIMATE SKATE BAG 2 (that is “Ultimate” for my purposes, anyways)

Made a number of conceptual changes with this second iteration, the largest of which being the switch from dedicated boot holds to a more generalized adjustable netting in the external cargo assembly; this allows the bag to more securely carry different types of skates as well as non-skate cargo

You’ll also notice a reworked shoulder strap assembly which more evenly distributes the load of the bag across the wearer’s back and shoulders

Additionally, the bag’s velcro strips and webbing loops allow for the attachment of external add-ons to expand its functionality

New year, new bag, new opportunites—come on Boston show me your worst my bag can take it 🤟🏽😤

A look at these jorts I made so my legs could get some fresh air (especially for skating cuz I usually like wearing more robust bottoms like jeans so they don’t get shredded too bad when taking falls but in this heat those feel like wearing an oven ☀️🥵)

Also, this is my first design made using CLO 3D and Inkscape (clutch free alternative to Adobe Illustrator 🤟🏽🤑)

Designed some 45 degree straps for my Standard boots and decided to make them customizable by the user

Customizable? How so?? PAINTER’S CANVAS FOR THE TOPPER (shoutout Mill End for carrying that, ilysm 😘)

They mount to the boot shell with standard skate-sized allen bolts and T-nuts, similarly to other common skate hardware like cuff buckles, and I wanted to add them to these skates to give me some extra heel lockdown on top of what I already get with just the laces by @rsl.alternative

Some looks at the design and fabrication process for this first iteration of the Skate Treads concept 🛠️🤓

Took a minute to let everything cure for molding and casting, but got some some good notes on procedural changes for future works to streamline parts of the process and improve quality of the casts by @rsl.alternative

Process documentation for the dual-design bandana from last time (+bonus pics of two similar items I made later on)

Prints for all three were made through bleaching, but the method of application for each ranges from freehand brush to spray with stencil
