TDFF Day 9. Final Fleece post for 2026. I like to think of this time lapse as the origins story. Spinning yarn is more than just the spin part. There's so much more to prepping fiber and I kinda love that I get to make so many little choices when prepping my fiber and get different results. Give two spinners the same fiber and the yarn produced can be wildly different between all the choices each spinner makes along the way.

I went to our town's Art in the Park today and saw a lovely farm, Yellow Dog Farm (@ydfvt ) in South Hero Vermont, and both of the people in the booth were spinning their lovely mohair from their own goats. One in a treadle wheel, the other on a stop spindle. It was so inspirational. And I didn't buy ANYTHING from them. I already peeked at their website and looks like they will be at @vtsheepandwoolfest so hopefully I will get a chance in October.

Life just got in the way of posting yesterday and today. Hopefully I'll finish strong tomorrow. I'm so excited to work with this fiber from @melissasyarnbarn. It's a very fun pink and purple combo with a new to me fiber blend. But the spoons have run out. .. So for today, just a picture of hopes and dreams.

Tdff day 6. Plying bracelet for a small 1oz batt I made on my blending board between the Tours. I made the batt with cottswold, silk and alpaca. Possibly two different alpacas

I'm going to be really real right now. Sticking with posting every day does not feel fun today. I'm spinning every day so that's the fun part. The brown Romney that I should have finished on Sunday is still being spun. So that feels less than exciting to give an update on!

My thoughts on spinning on a treadle wheel outside? Also not that fun. The ground is uneven and it feels awkward. Hopefully I have a different outlook tomorrow.

Yesterday was day 2 and life got in the way from spinning anything yesterday! Today is a new day and we press on! Still working with the brown Romney from the Vermont farm (Willis Towne). Played around with time lapse vs slow motion vs actually speed for filming
