Godzilla’s Adventure

This print serves as a meditation on the destructive and regenerative forces of the natural world. Godzilla, a creature born from the atomic age, embodies humanity’s fear of its own technological advancements and their catastrophic consequences. Yet, he is also a symbol of nature’s immense power - a force that can both destroy our cities and restore a chaotic balance.

The Risograph process, with its unpredictable registration and vibrant, layered inks, mirrors this duality. The accidental imperfections and off-kilter alignment of each print, evoke the chaos and unpredictability of a world under siege by a giant monster. At the same time, the distinct layers of colours, (fluorescent pink, aqua and yellow) build upon each other to create a vivid, almost pulsing image. This layering represents the strata of history technology and ecology that collide in the figure of Godzilla, reminding us that destruction and creation are often two sides of the same coin. taken in CultureCave by @rthsbll

I realise I never posted about Daze, so here we go

The confluence of personal tragedies and global disasters has given rise to a pervasive state of mental haze among individuals. Rapid, sweeping changes unfold with each passing moment, leaving many grappling with this emerging “new normal” and reevaluating their understanding of life. It appears as if we are in a perpetual state of adjustment, continuously navigating the challenges it presents.

Amidst this backdrop, Daze sheds light on the intensified sense of existential anxiety and unease that accompanies one’s journey through this uncertain and transitional phase, as if suspended in a state of limbo. taken in Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர் by @rthsbll

Drawing the Border of Water is officially open!✨

A project collaboration between the Migrant Writers of Singapore (MWS) and students from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts led by artist-lecturer Noor Iskandar, in an attempt to converge the world of art and literature through acts of conversations, performance and responding. Using the notions of border and water as routes of memories and (displacement), the project sieves through a communal expression of storytelling through different cartographies.

Hopefully this whisper of a collaboration encarves ripples for more sacred conversations as such in the greater community, elevating the crossings between disciplines, genres, voices. by @rthsbll
