Short-term contracts don’t just make work insecure. They leave us alone.

We move on, never putting down roots. No steady neighbours, no workplace community, no shared spaces. As soon as we start getting comfortable, it’s time to leave- before we belong.

Worse, we internalise this instability, telling ourselves we are building a “network.” We learn to survive alone — and call it independence.

That’s divide and rule entering our homes.
It seeps into relationships, families, friendships. But when we’re not together, we can’t strategise.
We can’t regroup.
We can’t organise.

And that’s the point.
It’s a system manufactured to upkeep hegemony: the rich keep accumulating, while we stay separated — blaming ourselves and each other.

The opposite of precarity isn’t just a permanent contract.
It’s us — together, in the same room, building a shared future. by @rtista

Small areas to explore in German Midlands. Our ancient bahun got a new dress in spring, so she wanted to go out for a spin. #harzmountains by @rtista
