These 10 minis are officially finished, and wowowow I am so excited to share them with you. 🤩 It’s been a whirlwind of a month(ish) here and carving out the time to paint these has been a really special part of the transition from summer to fall. Between painting, a corporate job, and playing outside admittedly a little bit too much (oops 🫣) I have not met my goals on sharing these and your path to collecting them as clearly as I had hoped to, SO. If you have your eye on one of these minis, here’s what ya need ta know:

🍂 These are 5x7” original paintings on cold pressed paper. The standard size makes them easy to frame and the paint I use is extremely lightfast so they will not fade or crack with time.

🍁 Each mini is one-of-one. I will not reproduce these as prints, so if there is one you love now is your time to grab it.

🏔️ The entire collection will be available on my website on Friday, September 25. Email subscribers will have access at 12 noon mountain time. Everyone else will have access at 7pm mountain time. You can sign up for my email list at the link in my bio. If you have already subscribed to my email list, look out for an email tomorrow morning (Thursday) with a preview of the collection and another on Friday with access details.

🫶 If you have questions, DM me! I’m here to help and so SO grateful for all the support and excitement around these so far and am excited to talk with you more about them. taken in Evergreen, Colorado by @rtomsart

Not afraid to say it, I nailed the colors in this one (Eeeee!! 🤭🤭)

One of my favorite parts about creating these collections of minis is the unexpected themes that emerge as I am working on them, and this fall collection has quickly become characterized by some serious COLOR. Autumn naturally has so many complementary colors (think the orangey/yellows against Colorado’s bright blue sky) and playing with the warm and cool, light and dark, muted and saturated variations in these scenes has me in the studio grinning from ear to ear. This is number 7 (of 10) that will go live on my website Friday, Sept 25. I’m going to try to post about these daily between now and then so you all have a clear idea of how to collect one of these lil guys. As always, email subscribers get first dibs so if you have your eye on one in particular I would highly recommend signing up for that (link in bio) 😉 by @rtomsart

A big milestone (and some personal facts about me) 👋🥳

I’ve lived in Colorado for 8 years, and fell in love with this state from the passenger seat of my now-husband’s truck (coincidentally at the same time I was falling in love with him). We met on a ski lift just before COVID and our lockdown adventures were often spent behind the wheel, socially distanced from the rest of the world, covering some serious miles through the Rockies. I hadn’t traveled much at that time, but he knew the roads from Durango to Grand Junction to Steamboat or the Butte like the back of his hand and I was the starriest-eyed of all passenger princesses 👸🏼🏔️✨

As we got to sharing goals, “a camper” was a dream of his and I quickly realized the allure. That was six years ago… the other night we slept in our Scout for the first time!! Roadtrips are still one of our favorite things and I can already tell this is gonna be a game-changer (both in and out of the studio ☺️) by @rtomsart

I have been feeling a real shift in my art practice these last few weeks, and I think it has a lot to do with my approach to details in color and texture. I am finally giving those “underneath layers” some room to breath and letting each brush stroke on top say a little more 😌🍂

Some shots from the studio this week 🫶🏻

Its been a packed start to September and I want to try and pull back the curtain on what it takes to work a corporate job, spend quality time with my husband, get out to play with friends, aaaaand paint you all some Colorado Aspen trees in time for fall 🫣 I’ve set my sights on three projects for the season… a collection of 10 minis to release on September 25, 8 (hopefully) framed 8x8” panels that will be available to you all on October 9, and two bigger pieces for a local gallery. I’m also prepping for Tennyson Fall Fest on October 17th and I got into Vibe Holiday Market (!!) in Denver November 6-8 so ladies and gents, my inventory management needs to level UP 🤓👩🏼‍🎨

Thing is, this week (like so many weeks) I chose to get out and ride bikes, climb with friends, do some delicious home cooking with my hubby, and chase a sunset or two. The result? A couple LATE nights with the brushes this week to stay on-track-ish (emphasis on ISH). I really do think though that the balance is what keeps me smiling over here even at odd hours… and I sure do paint better after playing outside 😉🏔️ taken in Evergreen, Colorado by @rtomsart

I spent a great deal of time thinking about this little piece between painting sessions. My goal was to be more intentional with color without sacrificing the chunky textures and loose brush strokes, and I have to say I am STOKED with the result. I’d love to know if there’s a slide where it comes to life for you… I think it’s number 6 for me. That’s when I knew it was all going to work out. taken in Mount Sneffels by @rtomsart
