A little late, but I wasn’t quite ready to accept this and make a post. I’m still not ready to accept the fact that I’ll never see Mama Stacie’s beautiful smile again or receive one of her big hugs. But I have to express what this incredible woman meant to me. Not only did she make me feel like part of her family from the moment I met her, but she introduced me to so many people who have become some of the ones I love most today. That’s a true testament to who she was. There was never anybody left out because she had a way of making everyone feel seen, included, and deeply loved. She truly became a second mother to me taking me on beach trips, giving me advice (even when it wasn’t what I wanted to hear), and always making sure I knew I had an open invitation to her home. Being with you, and everyone who loved you so dearly, during your final moments was truly a blessing. I already miss you more than words can say, but it brings me so much comfort knowing you’re in Heaven free from pain and finally at peace. I’m heartbroken that you’re no longer with us, but I’m forever grateful for every moment we got to spend together. In the most “Stacie” way possible, you left us with a smile on your face. After Saturday, I found myself going through old messages and pictures of you. Even after your diagnosis, you were still checking up on me. There was never a moment when you put yourself first. Your heart was always focused on finding new ways to make people feel heard, included, and loved. Looking out for others was one of the many lessons you taught me. I can never thank you enough for that. But my biggest thank you has to be for the son you raised. You gave me my best friend and my brother for life. That is, without a doubt, your greatest accomplishment, and anyone who heard you talk about him knew how proud you were. I promise we’ll take good care of your boy. You built the most incredible community around him, and we’ll be there every step of the way. I miss you so much already, Mama Stacie. I love you more than I can put into words. I know you’re smiling so big in Heaven, watching over all of us. Until we meet again. 💜 by @rtrauernicht27
