i have spent the last year developing this show into what this run felt like, it came up from my constant battle with consumerism and gender presentation and then evolved into an absurdist look at being a fat trans immigrant in a post ozempic great america… yikes

la mama was a dream for me when I first moved to this city. to have a developmental one night showing at squirts is such an honor, it’s unreal that its mine. and I got to do it with people I love. and Bijli. oh my god Bijli. there is quiet simply no one like her. early in this process over one of our many forty minute calls (she likes to talk, so do i) she told me that to her this is all she can be, and I said it’s all I am and then both of us giggled. feeling so lucky to have all of you to witness me as I become. <3
