Review of the last two months! 🧡

The media for this review was on fire.🔥 I loved nearly everything I picked up and even found some new favourites (Babel by R.F. Kuang and 9 to 5). 🌟

This month also brought chapter 27 into being and The Devil tarot card. Chapter 28 is almost ready for publishing however with how much my website provider charged me I'm trying to get a refund and swap to a new site. Never fear! I own ruabelle.com (woah) so the domain shall stay the same 😁

As September starts, I'm getting ready for my 3rd year of university which I'm really excited for.

How was your summer? I'd love some fantasy recommendations if anyone has some 🙏

3: The Devil ft. The King of Myan/the Castle of the Four 😈

The centre figure is King Matthias who has had an important role in the last few chapters that I've published!✨️ The character to the left just got introduced in chapter 27 (I can't say more than that) and to the right is Matthias' second in command, Eric Laudene in fill armour. Nightshade flowers make another appearance in this card held between the left figure's palms. 🌸

The Devil represents imprisonment, ego, and a lack of fulfillment in one's life. The card usually showcases two figures enchained to the Devil - the figures holding a flame and a bowl of grapes. ⛓️I liked Yoshi Yoshitani's interpretation as the card representing someone who would set 'a forest on fire for their own gain' for my card particularly.🔥

Pottery I made under Eibhlín's guidance @oakhouseceramics1!🏺I've always wanted to make an everyday object and I'm so glad that I came out of the course with six things. I'd definitely love to try a hand at pottery in the future again.❤️❤️❤️

The reason I'm posting this so far after their creation (they've been alive since June) is because two of them were a gift I was hiding 😊 but I'm happy to share them here now.

I drew this a bit ago after reading Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree. I didn't post it here because usually I focus on my book, but I was revisiting it recently and thought he was too cute not to post. 🥰

Anyway, Thimble is my absolute favourite character in the novel.🧡 It was love at first sight, honestly. A little rat baker who loves lattes just spoke deeply to my soul. 🐀

My girlfriend and I went to a ✨️castle✨️ for afternoon tea to celebrate the release of our uni results (we didn't really need an excuse though). It was so peaceful and serene, and very yummy. 🍵 I took a lot of photos for once so I thought I'd compile them nicely here to keep 🌸 by @ruabelle_creates

June (and May) Review! 🔆At this point it's a two month review.

I watched SO many movies in the last two months, so the movie section is extra long. I also went to three amazing concerts and had a great time at each of them. Sarah Kinsley and Florence's vocals were breathtaking and CMAT was just pure fun for five hours (the openers were amazing). 💃

I haven't published any chapters this month 😱 but I promise I'm working on them. I have a lot of questions to figure out for myself, including Iridea's unique curses alongside some more serious issues. I have up to chapter 32 written, now I just have to edit them all.

How was your June? I hope everyone got through the heat wave unscathed. Any recommendations for July? 🙏

2: The Star ft. Stellina✨️

This painting went through many tribulations, namely: the reference sketch looked better than what was supposed to be the painting sketch; I've reached dire straits with my white paint; the tape I used to neaten the edges took some of the page with it (won't be doing that again); and this is my third attempt with this posy so hopefully it works! 🙂

To business: I can't say much about the details of this painting because of 🙌spoilers🙌, so let's just say: The Star symbolises hope after disaster. I can't say Stellina is my most optimistic character, but she is persistent.

For those who don't know, Stellina is one of the primary characters in my book "Beneath the Starless Sky".

Typically the Star has a woman kneeling with one foot planted firmly on the ground and the other in a pool of water to represent outer and inner strength. I've also seen cards which have the woman drawing water from the pond to water dry earth around her. There are also usually seven stars surrounding the woman, but these are placed on Stellina’s body as her freckles.

Adventures in Berlin, Germany! 🇩🇪My friend and I went in April. I loved the city so much; all its history and art, that I'd really like to go back another time. Ultimately, I'm jealous of the bookshop they have there. Not only did they have books, they also had dvds and sheet music - I actually don't think I've seen sheet music for any instrument beside piano and guitar outside of the interweb before. I could sit in that shop for months.

Already scheming for another trip. I'd love the revisit the Netherlands, or try hut to hut hiking in Slovenia. Building confidence in Europe before I explore the other continents. Any suggestions?

We'll see if May's recap is out this month or next month, I've been so busy. Working on the next chapter and tarot card in the background 😊
