We know the new iPhone is tempting and there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself 🤳 But your wants shouldn’t come at the expense of your needs. Sometimes the best financial decision isn’t getting the newest thing. It’s giving yourself the peace of mind that your essentials are covered!

Let’s be real, life doesn’t come with a syllabus. That’s where the Basic Needs Resource Fair comes in! Connect with campus and community resources that help cover the essentials like food, housing, health, and finances. Swing by to learn what’s available, ask questions, and leave a little more prepared for whatever the semester throws your way. taken in Rutgers College Ave Student Center by @rubasicneeds

More Welcome Week is on the way ✨ Swipe through for what’s happening this week — full list in the guide on the Rutgers NB app
——
Welcome to Rutgers! Get ready to kick off your journey with the Great Scarlet Search, an exciting scavenger hunt taking place during Fall Welcome Week.

Open to teams of up to four new or transfer students, this event includes both in-person and online missions designed to help you discover all that Rutgers has to offer. The scavenger hunt runs until 11:59PM on Monday, August 31! With prizes awarded to the top three teams.

1. Download the Scavify app (only one person from your team needs to download the app and start the hunt)
2. Create an account using your Scarletmail
3. Go to the magnifying glass in the top right-hand corner and type in: the Great Scarlet Search-Fall 26
4. Join the hunt!

The Yard will be turned into a mini golf course for students to stop by and engage in some friendly competition out on the greens!

Start your semester with something sweet and creative with an evening of Cookies & Crafts during Scarlet Night Activities: SAC Takeover.

Meet the teams that are here to help you make the most of your Rutgers experience, meet and greet your RUSA representatives, learn about opportunities to get involved on campus, and connect with fellow Scarlet Knights.

While you’re here, enjoy cookies and delicious desserts and experience amazing crafts with Scarlet Arts Rx, including Mini Rage Piñatas, Bracelet Making, Rutgers-Themed Coloring Books, and more! Create something fun to take home while connecting with your Rutgers community.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, meet your student representatives, discover ways to get involved, or simply relax with a sweet treat and a creative activity, this is the perfect way to kick off the year.

Members of the R Family Council will assist students in taking First Day of School photos that they can send over to their families.

Fresh food, local vendors, and community fun all in one place! Stop by the Rutgers Farmers Market to shop for seasonal produce, tasty treats, and unique local goods while supporting local farmers. Bring a friend and enjoy the fresh flavors of the season by @rubasicneeds
