Thank you, @iconeye

Very honored for the cover story on my life behind the camera, the street spirit of New York and debut exhibition at the Leica store in Copenhagen. This is a special one.

1-year anniversary! 08.08.2026 🤍

One year ago, we got married in a little city hall outside Copenhagen. This year, we brought that feeling to New York, surrounded by the people who have shaped our lives, our love and the journey between the two cities.

A night we’ll never forget.

The foundation of the table. Hemstitch cocktail napkins, napkins and tablecloths by @solinohome, bringing softness and texture to the setting. /AD

A scent for the evening, and for the memory of it. @maisondetto filled the space with a fragrance that became part of the sensory experience, from the candles burning throughout the room to the ones each guest took home. /AD

The table, set for thirty-seven. Tableware by @fortessatableware, featuring Heirloom plates, Grand City flatware, Vintage tumblers and Tulip wine glasses. /AD

The soundtrack to the evening. Music by @shanikahillocks, played through @kef.global LS60 speakers in white, carrying us from dinner into dancing. /AD

The feeling of the evening from above.

The serving table. A mix of Pilastro glassware, Norman Foster dishes and Arne Jacobsen trays by @steltondesign, filled and layered for the evening. /AD

A little nod to Denmark. Sourdough piled high in the Pilastro serving bowl by @steltondesign, bringing a piece of Copenhagen to the table in New York. /AD

@matildewhughes on the dance floor. A moment I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

Stocked and ice cold for the evening. Natural wine by @folkways.wines and sparkling wine by @chandon. /AD

Uncorking Koppitsch Homok 2022 from @folkways.wines. A little taste of home, and a nod to our love of Austrian wine around our table in Copenhagen. /AD

I sometimes think about what I would tell my younger self.

As a kid, I thought I wanted to be so many different things. I had no idea where life would take me, where I would live, what my career would look like, or how many times things would change along the way.

And somehow, here I am in Denmark, going on 9 years next month.

I’ve built a life here. A career. Friendships. Family. A home. And, most importantly, a version of myself that younger me probably couldn’t have imagined yet.

The path hasn’t been linear, and I’m still figuring parts of it out. But maybe that’s exactly what I’d tell him:

You don’t have to know exactly who you’re going to become.

Just stay curious, keep creating, take the opportunities that scare you a little, and trust that your life can become much bigger than the one you’re able to picture right now. by @rubenhughes

What started as a personal celebration became an exercise in creative direction.

1. The Brief
Bring Copenhagen to New York for one evening.

2. The Concept
An intimate anniversary dinner for 37 people, somewhere between a celebration and a gallery opening.

3. The Creative Direction
A world built through identity, table, food, wine, florals, scent, space, sound and photography. Every decision connected back to the same idea, from what guests saw and heard to what they ate, drank and experienced.

4. The Partners
Brands and collaborators that already made sense within the world, so each partnership felt integrated rather than added on.

5. The Installation
A film installation blending archival Copenhagen and New York with references from art, fashion and music.

6. The Result
A personal celebration became a complete brand world: part dinner, part installation, part editorial story. taken in Brooklyn, New York by @rubenhughes

Mexico City, from @downtownmexico. A historic palace reimagined with a more contemporary edge, where brick ceilings, old stone and tiled floors meet pared-back interiors. I loved how traces of the building’s past are still present throughout. Our final stay with @design_hotels. /AD taken in Downtown Mexico by @rubenhughes

In the center of Oaxaca, @otrooaxaca draws from the city around it through brick, raw concrete, timber and open courtyards. Contemporary in expression but rooted in local architecture, the spaces move between shadow, warm light and views across the historic center.
