Joining a dog training program built around working dogs has definitely changed the way I play with my mini too.

No, she won’t become a Personal (or Purse👜👀) Protection Dog. 😅 But getting her to enjoy the game with me, rather than grabbing the toy and running off to chew on it alone in a corner the second she tugs it out of my hand, and even pushing it towards me (even if not knocking me ever 😂) is a huge win in my book.

And this is exactly why I think we underestimate so many dogs.

If you think Malinois are naturally high drive and bred for this kind of work, while other breeds have less to offer, you probably haven’t seen many different dogs showing their full potential.

Because even in a tiny package, you can have a LOT of drive. Power. Potential. Waiting for you to unlock it.

The question is whether you know how to develop it, channel it, and make it work to your advantage.

Because drive you don’t know how to use can become a problem to manage. But when you understand how to work with it, it can become one of your greatest assets. And just so much fun!

I forgot Joy’s birthday post last Sunday 😭 Happy Birthday, baby girl! ❤️ Happy 3 years! 🥳

It’s been a rough year, but I’m so happy we’re heading into 4th year on a better note 🫶🏻

Forgot the birthday reel, but not the birthday gift 😂 She’s been having a blast with her new set of Puller rings, and yesterday we even did some dumbbell retrieves – for the first time in a whole year. 🤯

There are plenty of details to work on in the coming sessions, but we had so much fun, she handled the cardio well, and I’m excited to build on this and get more of these sessions back into our routine.

Here’s to more training, more play, and many more years together. ❤️

I’ll go first: fun 🤗
Because when I got a dog, it wasn’t just because I wanted a cute pet to lie on the couch with or cuddle when I was sad. I wanted a life companion. One to hang out with, explore, learn and do fun things with. And I wanted her to have a fulfilling life too.

Training and going on walks was never a chore we had to do and forget about it once it was done. It’s something we both continuously look for over and over again ❤️ even after 9 years

No previous protection dog experience. Her first Malinois.

What you’re watching isn’t a professional trainer or someone who has spent years working protection dogs. She’s an MVP PPD Premium student who learned these training skills through our online program.

And what impresses me most isn’t just the grip.

Look at the control before it. A sleeve lying passively in the living room without the dog taking ownership of it. Clear communication. Clear expectations. Then, when it’s time to work, beautiful commitment and full grips.

That contrast is what protection training should be about.

Control when you need control. Power when you ask for power.

There’s something very special about prancing together with your dog ✨
It’s art; much like dancing. Poetry in motion, as it’s often called.

Last time she pranced like this was 9 months ago. After her IBD in December, spay surgery in February and then autoimmune arthritis in April, in the end of May she was finally cleared to go back to her active lifestyle. But truth was her body couldn’t handle it. She struggled to walk, to run, to prance. Her muscles were weak, she got tired quickly. So seeing her finally be willing and capable of moving her body makes me incredibly happy 🥹❤️‍🩹
