The boys and I spent a couple of days in St Louis to see my brother from another mother @reichmann.adam and his lovely wife, Lisa. We went to the arch, the zoo, the amazing @citymuseum, sat in the most luxurious cinema seats my butt has known, ate delicious food and Tennessee got to play some guitar with Adam, one of my favourite musicians who fronted Americana band Nadine and still plays solo. I wish I took more photos. I think I was just having too much fun. ☺️

It started as @glamcatlife and I drove down a dirt road in Tecopa, California in search of a place called Villa Anita. At the end of the road, the gate to the property was closed.
Just as we were about to turn around and head to our next destination, a vision in a hat and poncho, swatting strange desert bugs away from him appeared and peered in the window. It turned out to be the lovely and eccentric @carlothephotographer . He invited us in for a tour which would include snacks and wine for a reasonable price and we jumped at the chance.

Through the gates was a fantastic art environment using recycled materials. We met Carlos’ equally lovely partner, artist @jack.hollo, a shit ton of the cutest rescue cats and dogs and drank wine while taking in the splendor. @villaanitadv is one of my new favourite places. I can’t wait to go back for an overnight stay. ☺️❤️

Tios tacos in Riverside California established by Martin ‘Tio’ Sanchez in 1990. Every inch of the property is covered in art made from recycled materials from the restaurant and other treasures. I love his vision. The food was delicious and the selection of aguafrescas were amazing especially on a hot July afternoon. It was also so nice to meet up with my friends @robertgarson.us and my lovely second family from when I was 13 that I had not seen since then. ❤️

Last summer @glamcatlifecat and I visited the @http://amargosaoperahouse.org on our way to Beatty Nevada. Unfortunately we didn’t stay there as we had another place booked, so we didn’t get any interior shots and it looked like the Opera house was closed. This is a beautiful 10 minute documentary about Marta Becket and her vision for the Opera house she started in the middle of Death Valley. Sometimes dancing to an audience of none.

Part one of Apple Valley Hillbilly Garden in Calvert City, Kentucky. Such an Amazing place. One of the owners, Dianne, gave us the tour. I bought some of her folk art and wished I had longer to explore. Tennessee stayed in the car afraid this would be our fate. 😂🙄😳🤡 by @ruby.dixie

I’m always looking for outsider art environments. They are abundant in the US, but rarer to find here in the UK. I had forgotten that last Spring @boneysisland and I visited one that’s right on our door step in East Sussex. The wonderful sculpture garden of Tim Riddihough. He has open houses every now and then and he always has some of his work for sale. Here’s some contact details…

Jill and I hiked up to see our friend Aces memorial in Beatty, Nevada. We were sad to see that it had fallen over, time/weather has taken its toll. When we propped it up we found these beautiful rocks left by #beattyrocks. Thanks for spending time with our friend. ❤️ by @ruby.dixie

Chicago day one… we had a great day… visited the intuit museum of outsider art, met a group of dudes on a softball team having a cook out and drinking beer in a grassy side alley, walked around in the warmth and soaked up the vibes of a new place, finished off having dinner with my sis and the boys at a steak house. by @ruby.dixie
