This picture was taken 2 years ago at sisterhood conference. That year I was empty in every area of my life. I was lost, hopeless, and isolated. But over time, my walk with Christ changed everything… not just within me, but around me. When I truly surrendered and started living for Him, the atmosphere of my whole life shifted. The people I kept close, the places I went, even the way I carried myself. All of it began to look different. What once felt ordinary started to feel sacred, because His presence went with me everywhere. Events that used to drain me started filling me with peace, and conversations became moments to reflect His love, but the greatest change happened in my heart. Where there used to be chaos, there’s now clarity. Where bitterness lived, there’s grace. Christ didn’t just change my path. He changed my posture toward life.

I remember praying for God to remove anything that pulled me away from Him… and soon after, everything I had built for myself fell apart. At the time it hurt, but now I can see that it had to happen. I was living by my own understanding, not His. The old version of me had to die so I could be renewed. I struggled with so much fear, depression, and anxiety, but looking at that girl from two years ago and seeing who I am today brings me so much comfort. I’m sharing this to remind anyone who needs it, God doesn’t ask you to come to Him at your most perfect. He isn’t calling you to perfection. He’s calling you to follow Him, and to let everything you do be for Him.

The next picture was the very verse that I was reading in the first so I figured I’d share it for those who maybe are struggling.

My biggest takeaways were this:
Don’t be lazy in your passion for God. Stay on fire for Him and serve with purpose. Let your joy come from the hope you have in Christ, and be patient when life gets tough.

Don’t respond with bitterness, respond with prayer. Choose unity over drama, humility over pride, and trust God instead of seeking revenge.

And above all, do your part to keep peace. You can’t control others, but you can control how you respond. You defeat evil by choosing good every single time. by @ruby.may.berb
