say goodbye to Leo season by saying hello to way too many pictures of me from the past several months, (partly because i stopped posting for so long lol) but also because i believe, as the Leo’s do, that you should indulge in yourself. kill the critic in your head who says you aren’t enough. become who you know you are. don’t waste another day lying in the rubble of a life that isn’t yours.

oh hey there. my new song “Swanton Bomb” is out now. i spent last winter listening to shoegaze and watching old wrestling videos, specifically of my favorite Jeff Hardy, and this song came out of that.

Thanks to @jeffhardybrand for being the best. thanks to @wax_pools for production as always.

June: Hot Girlfriends Edition

this (pride) month has brought me deep wells of happiness. levels of joy i didn’t even know were possible for me to find anymore. i truly felt like i was sinking. i’m really not myself when i don’t have the special someone’s in my life to nurture and care for. but the universe threw me not one but two life rafts in Luna & Amber. how did i get so lucky? my girls, my GHOULS! thanks for having me in your lives and in your hearts. excited for whatever our futures may hold! Love you both 💕🥰💖

wanted to honor my sweeties who are no longer with us. a few weeks ago we lost Blackjack, the big fluffy black and tan one. last summer we lost Lily, the beagle. it’s been really hard losing both in under a year. they were wonderful to each other, they were wonderful to us. Lily liked to cuddle and burrow under blankets, and use that beagle nose to get into trouble lol. Blackjack liked to play tug of war, fetch, and run around doing his figure 8’s in the backyard and talk to the neighbors. i miss them both tremendously. the quiet when you lose someone is the hardest part, but i find solace knowing we always gave them the best lives possible, and poured our love into them every chance we got.

give your babies a big squeeze for me.

very honored and thrilled to share with y’all that i had the opportunity to write the liner notes for the wonderful new @isabellasage613 album, Memory.

i lived with Isabella in Brooklyn for several years and they were some of the best times i’ve had on this earth. i got to be in her life and witness her creativity first hand. i got to be in her band (i was playing guitar in that basement show that the cover photo is from). No matter whatever she was calling her group at the time, or whichever instrument i didn’t play that she asked me to learn for a show, i was always excited to be any little part of it because i knew what she was doing was incredibly special and unique and powerful.

most importantly i got to be in her heart. she moves with such love and grace and care for others, that i’m forever honored to be her friend. she’s always been a great human, but she is also such a talented songwriter and musician and performer (she really played that whole show laying in bed). her approach to writing and performing left a profound impact on my own musical journey. she gave me the confidence to work on my own tunes again and i honestly don’t think i would/could have started this solo project had i never met her, or had she not invited me into her band. Her inspiration is all over everything i do in music. she is a true…one of one. an Aquarian Songstress. there is no other, like Isabella Sage.

so please, it would really mean a lot to me if you read these words about her album, and it would mean even more if you listened to it and bought it! out now on Bandcamp and streaming everywhere! you can read it all here in the slides if you’re a dark mode person, or on the Memory bandcamp page i’ve linked in my bio if you’re into light mode.

a day late and a dollar short. i guess i owe her a buck….but truth be told i owe her a lot more than that. cause my world would be very different had i not electronically met this electric aquarius. and not just my world, but the world of many others, and even the whole big ol’ world in general when you think about it, if we had to go through life without such a unique, clever, creative, hilarious person in it. it would be a lot less weird (good weird) and a lot less expansive.
because the way Wren sees the world is truly something to witness. whether that’s through her humour or her photography or her questions about life.

personally, the community that she and Cam have built over the last 2 years has brought me endless amounts of joy, laughter, love and inspiration. there are now so many people i consider dear friends because of this community. and i really hope she knows how many lives they have touched.

jumping back to ‘23…feel like i wasn’t in a great spot. i had come out as trans in 21’ and i was back in my hometown, instead of the Big City i had been living in, trying to start a new life, in the middle of the pandemic, and i didn’t have much of a support system and i was very lonely. then i found something called corn corner podcast ™️.

it gave me new life. first, it was just watching the episodes, and for the first time i got to see two trans people just hang out and talk about whatever the fuck they wanted. sometimes serious, often goofy. just trans people existing and talking about their favorite things. it was deeply humanizing.

shortly after. through her Twitch streams, and then the discord, i was interacting with other fans, many of whom i now call friends. building a community.

then finally, through talking to and interacting with @wickedwren herself. she spoke with such kindness and genuine interest. i felt seen and appreciated….
