This collection began with a simple idea: to create the pieces I felt were missing. Vessels that were beautifully weighted, that supported the way I naturally arrange flowers, that reduced the need for foam, chicken wire and tape wherever possible, and that could be returned to again and again.

Arranging flowers for so many years, you begin to appreciate certain details… A better proportion. A more stable foot. The way stems gather within an opening. Over time, those observations shape the way you think about a vessel, and it was a privilege to translate them into a collection.

This project is the result of so many talented people. To everyone at @zarahome - thank you for approaching this collaboration with such trust and care. From our very first conversations through to the design process, the editorial and the launch, every detail was approached with genuine thought and attention. It meant so much to work with a team that took the time to understand the experience of floristry and the small details that matter to those of us who work with flowers every day.

Thank you to @peterbjordanov for the beautiful photography, @alexandresilberstein for bringing the collection to life through film. A special thanks to everyone from Studio Mary Lennox and our collaborators who contributed to this project 🫂

A truly fulfilling part of the last few days has been hearing from so many of you, especially the floristry community. It’s such a generous and thoughtful group of people, and it’s been so nice to connect with so many of you through this collection.

STUDIO MARY LENNOX

Studio Mary Lennox is a creative studio specialising in flower styling, botanical design and botanical consultancy. Founded by Ruby Barber, Mary Lennox is named after the protagonist of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel The Secret Garden, a story which celebrates the beauty, mystery and rejuvenating qualities of nature. By chance, Ruby’s first studio also found itself on the corner of Mary and Lennox Streets in Sydney, Australia. The same building housed her father’s first photography studio and her mother’s first art gallery.
