Last month I posted this and someone commented “I don’t see how anyone would want a lawn looking at this photo”

This lawn has been prepared to sow clover seed which is much more wildlife friendly and drought tolerant than grass. We’ve decided to wait until spring to sow the clover as it’s getting a bit cold now for germination.

Today I helped my client divide some of her perennials and pot them up to give to her daughter. I also gave the front garden some tlc and added a layer of mulch 🪱

As much as possible I try to encourage my clients to create havens for wildlife, whilst also respecting their preferences, often it’s a process and the garden plans change and evolve with the seasons…

I started working in a new garden in Tottenham yesterday, did a bit of an autumn tidy and added some mulch, started a stick and leaf pile for the insects and made plans with my client 🍂🪱🐞 by @ruby_wilgrove_gardening

Yesterday I gave this garden in Tottenham some tlc - weeded, cut back / tidied, watered and added some more woodland mulch. I planted a new clematis at the back to grow up the left hand side of the fence, it’ll have dark red flowers in the spring/summer. I’ll add some bulbs next time 🌷

Today at @firefly.london I cut back the roses and sedge next to the lodge, weeded the raised beds, planted some more plant babies, the kids did their own ‘gardening in tiny pots next to me while I worked 🥰 I added more woodchip to the fairy garden area and gave the herb pots some tlc and gave everything a really good water 💦

Added some tulip and narcissi bulbs to this boarder I planted up last time, I gave everything a good water and added more mulch. I gave the lawn another weed and rake, added lawn dressing and sowed grass seed 🌱

Today I tidied up the boarders in this garden and added some more verbena bonariensis and echinachea, I also mowed and raked the lawn and prepared it with lawn dressing for clover seed which I sowed in the areas where the lawn had really struggled in the heat this year, hoping it’ll help it stay lush and green next summer ☘️
