9.12.26 🐚💍🏜️

The best day of my life. I didn’t know at the time, but Ruby had been planning this proposal for an entire year.

She rallied up some of our closest friends, and together, they pulled off the perfect plan. During a special tour of @bestfriendsanimalsociety, Ruby pulled me out for some photos at the Disney Barn (yes, it was in an old western Disney movie, so perfect), popped down on one knee, and presented me with an ethereal mermaid ring that she designed herself.

I was stunned and touched to tears. Little did I know, just around the corner, some of the most special people in our lives were waiting to celebrate us. There was a cake, the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen, and a line of friends that mean so much to me. I sobbed as I felt how much love it takes to travel all the way out to Utah just to be there for our engagement. To all of you, my heart has not stopped overflowing with gratitude for your support of Ruby & I, and your presence 🫂

Then, I was even more surprised to know we were all heading out to a sand dune adventure that would end in a bonfire and gazing at the stars together. Thank you so much @expeditionkanab for the perfect post-proposal evening. Our friends all got to experience our second date from 2022 in real time. And just like the first time, we all ended up in Vegas but that’s a story for later 💋✨🃏

For now, Im still basking in how perfect this day was. I wanted to keep it to just us for a while, but I know this love story is one that should be shared. This day was worth all the pre-Ruby tears, confusion, pain, and unlearning. True love exists and it comes when you love yourself enough to let the right love in. I wish this kind of love on everyone 🤍 P.S. @macytoddd you did your big one with this song. We’re obsessed 🎶

Foster dog cuddles all night long!

Volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary can end with a foster dog sleepover at their cozy roadhouse hotel or one of the on site cabins.

Older dogs are often the last to get adopted, so even of you aren’t looking to adopt, giving one of these special souls some love outside of the sanctuary for a night is such a cool opportunity.

Best Friends takes such good care of these animals, from acupuncture for pain management, to careful training and socialization to get the animals who need it fully ready for adoption.

If you can support this beautiful haven, either by donating, volunteering, or adopting, please do! #uniquestays #wlw #sapphic #wuhluhwuh #vegan by @rubyandkatrena

How lucky by John Prine 🪕🎶

This song makes us think about how important it is to hold onto the little things that light us up when the world feels dark.

Special thanks to the adaptive cimbing coach at Mesa Rim who recognized Ruby and inspired us to make another singing video 🫶🏼🫶🏽

(and yes i added a cheeky third harmony in ther bc i couldn’t resist, props to you if you caught it💁🏽‍♀️)

Forever concert date 🖤✨

Had the best time at @theshellsd. It’s by far the most beautiful concert venue in San Diego. Thank you so much for having us. The food, drinks, music, and view were incredible. And thank you @daouvineyards for the mini rosés 🫶🏽🫶🏼 Watching @johnstamos play two sets of drums, the guitar, and sing was crazy impressive.

The Rady Shell is doing their summer series with the @sandiegosymphony so be sure to check out the performances on their page. #theradyshell #sandiegomusic #sandiegosymphony #sandiego #wlw taken in San Diego, California by @rubyandkatrena
