From the final touches that set the stage to the warm reception of distinguished guests and the honour of welcoming the Honourable Minister of Communications @bolanleolukoju ,every moment at the @kwara_poetrychampionship reflected the beauty of intentional planning and professional event management.
It was more than an event; it was an experience carefully curated to bring people together, celebrate creativity, and create lasting impressions. From the preparation to the grand moments, we were proud to be part of a remarkable gathering where excellence took centre stage.
Because a successful event is never just about what happens on stage, but everything that happens behind it.

Thank you @rubyeliteeventcrew

Two days of experiencing, learning, supporting and witnessing a beautiful story come to life. 🀎

The ILAΜ€ project was such an amazing experience for me.

I had the privilege of being part of the process for two days β€” supporting in whatever ways I could, being present through the creative process, and watching a story rooted in Yoruba identity, facial markings, lineage, memory and heritage take shape.

What stayed with me most was the thought that projects like this can help us document our history and culture in ways that future generations can see, feel and connect with.

There was something beautiful about seeing our heritage being explored through a contemporary creative lens without losing the meaning behind it.

ILAΜ€ β€” The Lines of Beauty & Identity β€” is a project by @moajmedia and I’m grateful I got to experience the journey.

Sometimes, being present, supporting the process and witnessing the story unfold is enough.
And this is one experience I’ll be happy to remember. 🀎

IT WAS A GREAT PRIVILEGE TO BE ON THE SET OF THE PROJECT β€œILA” ( Tribal marks) WITH
@moajmedia

Working with her and other amazing teams was full of fun, and come this Saturday the hall is opened for and exhibition no one has seen on a long time

Infact 1 of its kind.
And @rubyeventsnmore is excited to be part of the planning committee.

ILA, THE FACE OF OUR HERITAGE
As. Production by @moajmedia

Behind every face, every carving, every shape and every detail can be a story.

A story of people.
A story of family.
A story of ancestry.
A story of identity.
A story of survival.
A story of generations.

The beauty of IΜ€LAΜ€ lies in the fact that it allows history to become visible.

It reminds us that our heritage is not something that belongs only to the past. It is something we carry into the present and have the responsibility to preserve for the future.

In a world where cultures are constantly evolving, remembering where we come from gives us something valuable: a sense of identity and belonging.

IΜ€LAΜ€ therefore becomes more than an artistic expression.

It becomes a bridge between the past and the present.

A bridge between those who came before us and those who will come after us.

When we look at IΜ€LAΜ€, we are not simply looking at a mask.

We are looking at a piece of a story.
We are looking at memory.
We are looking at heritage.
We are looking at identity.

IΜ€LAΜ€ is the face of our heritage.
IΜ€LAΜ€ is the memory of generations.
IΜ€LAΜ€ is history made visible.
IΜ€LAΜ€ is a story that deserves to be remembered.

What if the marks on our faces could tell stories?

Long before many of the records we have today, our people carried identity, lineage, belonging and history on their skin.

YoruΜ€bá tribal marks are more than marks.

They are memories.
They are identity.
They are heritage.

And they were not simply carried by people whose stories have been forgotten.

Some of Nigeria’s most prominent historical figures, including Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, are remembered in historical photographs and accounts with facial mark, visible reminders of a time when culture and identity were carried proudly on the face.

But what happens when a generation grows up knowing these marks only as something from the past?

What happens to the stories, meanings and identities attached to them?

ILA is an exhibition dedicated to documenting, exploring and preserving the stories behind YoruΜ€bá tribal marks as an important part of our cultural heritage.

Because when we stop documenting our stories, we risk losing more than the marks.

We risk losing the memories they carry.

Come with us as we look beyond the marks, and into the stories they tell.
