This popped up on my feed; I guess AI knew I needed a calming image tonight. I think this is the Colorado River as seen from the train. October 2024. by @rubylern

South Bend looking.a little bleak this Sunday morning. When I started traveling by train, I often thought it would be interesting to get off in one of the small Midwestern towns where the train stops, and spend 6 months there. I grew up in a small town in Western NC, and I am so curious about what small town life is like now, especially for young people. by @rubylern

Beautiful Lake Chautauqua. So happy to be back! The symphony with acrobats. A fabulous writer’s presentation about her new book LOUDMOUTH, about Emma Goldman. An inspiring day!! by @rubylern

I got my kicks on Route 66 in Albuquerque (Nat King Cole Trio). The Dog House is a landmark! I was here to do a Keynote address at a conference on Legacy issues. It was a fantastic event. I got to talk about how my first awareness of legacy was through observing its failure-and there was even a plot twist at the end! Congratulations and a big thank you to the great Nancy Zastudil of Legacy Lab New Mexico for putting the event together. It was such an honor to be part of it! The keynote will be up on rubylerner.com in a few weeks! by @rubylern
