🥁 Introducing…The Big Question Club: a journaling club, for thinkers.

Each month, we will be exploring one big question through a series of prompts, literature, philosophy and art.

This is something so many of you have been asking for and I’m excited to finally launch it!

All the details are up on Substack (link in bio!)

📚 So reading physical books is now performative?

📖 I find the need to call anything out as performative such a strange online reflex that majority of the time it doesn’t make sense!!

✍️ I’ve written about this is more detail on Substack (link in bio and stories)

📚 Why you should pair fiction with philosophy.

💡 Reading philosophical texts will give you bunch of ideas but reading those ideas in action through fiction has been a game changer for me. It’s really allowed me to embody those ideas rather than just be aware of them.

✍️ Full recommendations - both fiction and non-fiction is up on Substack - link in bio and stories!

📝 Why do you journal?

After spending a ridiculous amount of money on planners in September I realised I have too many. For too many for a journaler who doesn’t journal to be productive!

So it got me thinking what is it about journaling that helps me?

More thoughts are up on Substack (link in bio)

Welcome to The Big Question Club.

A journal club, for thinkers. Each month we explore one big question through weekly journal prompts.

This month we are exploring whether anything stays the same and this week we are turning that question in on ourselves.

Members can download the journal pages from Substack which includes some philosophical thought and journal cuttings for you to think about this question with a bit more depth.

All the details on how you can join, and this week’s prompt, are up on Substack (link in bio)

This week’s overthinking is sponsored by a little bit of medieval literature and my last @thebookerprizes read…a big book calls for the big bag. A lot of you have been asking about the @mulberryengland don’t worry, she’s not gone anywhere for 10 years and she ain’t going anywhere now!

*not actually a sponsored video 😂

🎃 This fortnight’s commonplace page was inspired by a little rabbit hole of curiosity…why do we carve pumpkins on Halloween?

I’d love to see your carved pumpkins! Drop your pics in the comments!

📚 Third instalment of my thoughts on @thebookerprizes shortlist. Today is focussing on Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout. A short but incredibly moving book.
