A series of photos taken in a derelict building on the UCONN Storrs campus, by far the creepiest and coolest location I’ve been on for a film shoot.

All shot on my iPhone using the #hujiapp lol

Strangest/scariest things found inside that I may or may not have photographed but want you to use your imagination to picture on your own:

- a closet filled with doors(monsters inc live action when?!?!)
- two rooms filled almost to the ceiling with marching band instruments
- a bathroom with a sweater hanging in the shower
- two massive oil portraits stashed between some of the instruments
- possible dried blood splatter on the floor
- a room with the hatch to the attic open(very insidious core)
- a bunch of frat paddles???

on the set of “Pay the Difference” written and directed by UCONN MFA candidate @mussawirabrar

And a special shoutout to all the lovely, talented and hardworking people I was lucky to get to meet and collab with!!!

A playful final accord to the program NO RESPONSIBILITY, played by SOCKALYPSE by Ruby Toolan | USA | 2025. Still some time left to view the Summer edition streaming from June 14 to 22nd, and very limited time left to vote for your favorite films, links in bio 🔗🔥📽👀

Duration 00:02:51

A seemingly normal phone call between two friends quickly reveals itself as something much more sinister, yet the darkness isn’t quite what it seems.

Mirror Mirror (2025)

A girl performs her nightly ritual…

Probably the project from the fall that I’m the most satisfied with. It also gave me the most grief. The first time I shot it, the roll came back completely blank 😭. So ofc I was rushed for time with the sound aspect of the first version. So I spent the last month reacquainting myself with garage band for the first time since middle school. Pretty satisfied with the sound now though, we’ll see how I feel about it in a couple months though 😭.

Special thanks to my star and wonderful roommate @nnaommiart
& @shotbyjimmy_31 for the assist on the reshoot 🫡

“SOCKALYPSE”

My final 16mm short film for my Film Practices class this past fall! Probably not the final edit of this but I thought it was time that the lovely cast and crew who helped work on it got to see what I showed for Crit lol.

This is based on an actual dream and the conversation I had with @willzeppieri that followed. It happened around May of last year and stuck with me.

This project was a huge learning process, and I honestly couldn’t have done any of it without the following people: @directedbykea @lknjigmht @rhi.chaston @itsdarianaalvarez @evhbo @charlie._.fitzgerald @j.d.o.229 @oli_a_midy and @ryscoot so thank you all, and I hope you love it as much as I do!

Yes you can laugh by the way it’s supposed to be funny 💀😅

College Building (2025)

A Black and White 16mm silent short film
(insta doesn’t like reels without audio)

Every RISD student knows what it’s like to try and navigate College Building for the first few times(really the first year or two) and it literally makes you feel insane it’s such a strange in between space that seems trapped in an early time but is trying to function for us in the here and now but falls short due to the way it was originally designed and the oddities created by what I’m sure have been decades of renovations. So this my little tribute/love letter to a very special building.

My first individual project shot on a Bolex! Definitely not perfect but I’m really proud of how it came out at least visually. I was pleasantly surprised that so much of it is well exposed and that the narrative is fairly clear (I think lol)

Special thanks to @mushroom_xi_

Solar One (2025)

A 16mm found footage assemblage. Hand edited/spliced and then recorded off the Steenbeck. Colored in DaVinci Resolve , music also by me.

Really loved the hands on process of physically splicing together old film footage. I ended up spending a total of 5 hours straight sitting at the steenbeck splicing and that was after I’d spent a night sorting through all the reels 😅. I didn’t really go into it with a specific story in mind, just chose clips that I was drawn to visually whether it be color or composition that caught my eye.

I ended up realizing that I was partial to the more industrial imagery of technology and technical advancement. So I guess this is a commentary on the rapid modernization of society and the way in which the Industrial Revolution triggered a never ending tumble of dominoes and the ways in which we are now constantly stimulated by sound and visual input.
