Yesterday I had my favourite Platypus encounter so far...this lil creek puppy found a glowing window of light to warm up in before plunging again...the water clarity is crystal at the moment...I love how you can see her so clearly when she dives down 🫧 🤎🙏🫧

My excitement quickly turned to concern as I observed this beautiful Eastern Brown Snake...I contacted my friend who is a licensed and trained Snake handler...we couldn't work out what this behaviour was, except that it appeared to possibly be in pain...there looked to be some irregularities on the scales and also damage to the tail. @safesnakeservicesss attended but the Snake had gone deep into the rocks. Ive been monitoring closely for the last few days but no sign of poor snakey...the road is behind boom gates and not accessible to the public without a code so a car injury seems unlikely unless it happened further up my street...I find it so hard to see animals suffering and I really hope we can find her again to get her to our wildlife hospital...remember to be aware on our roads..its absolutely crazy with birds and wildlife at the moment...please slow down. 🙏🐍🤎🦉💜

After not seeing Baby Girl and little one for over a month I was floored by their growth. This is their release avery where they were soft released ( door left open at night for them to venture into the forest when they were comfortable to go) Little one flew away first and Baby Girl came back for feeds at first but eventually she didn't come back. The local Rainbow Bee-Eaters are all a flurry with nesting...lots of mid air acrobatics as the adults hunt to feed the chicks...being concious to avoid the areas where the tunnel built nests were, I took the opportunity of photographing these two cuties who were across the other side of the nesting ground in a Banksia. Always love seeing these birdies...so hard not to lose hours at a time lost in Bee-Eater land! 🫶🌈🐝🩷🪶✨️

A flash of brilliant Blue to brighten up the overcast day...An unexpected Sacred Kingfisher appeared just before dark at my local nature reserve...I've never seen this species here before so it was a very welcome surprise...a few chirps to another in the nearby trees and he was gone. Love the Sacreds 🙏💙🫶🪶

A big handsome fella for Fursday...the flies were annoying af this day...this stunning Eastern Wallaroo male was shaking them off in annoyance ( me too) I love Tenterfield and the whole Granite Belt so much...can't wait to get back up there. 🙏🤎🦘🫶🦉💜🔮

I had to check if it's actually Wrensday...I had a procedure today and am whacked out from the anaesthetic...I photographed this cutie a couple of days ago on a quiet country road...I adore the Red-Backed Fairywrens...well I adore ALL Fairywrens...a bird so beautiful it has it's own day of the week...so grateful to have these cuties all around us. 🙏🖤❣️🫶🪶

We have bubba snowballs!! After their annual nesting tree was cut down last year..I was so worried the resident Tawnies at my local park would move elsewhere...When I discovered the male was on the nest a few weeks ago I started checking on them...yesterday the first teeny bubba popped up from the nestle of dads breast..I'm hoping the second one will appear very soon...dad was busy keeping the flies off the chick...last time I was there I located mum in a nearby tree...when darkness falls the adults will share feeding responsibility. Tawny Frogmouths are amazing parents. It's officially baby season! 🦉🫶🤍🦉🫶🤍

How incredibly lucky I feel to spend time with these lil cuties...after the water calmed from the lover's interrupted this guy was sent on his way...I felt so sorry for him but he seemed to take it swimmingly ( soz) Platypus are definitely high on my favourites list and its easy to forget that many people never even see one in the wild during their lifetime...cherish these magic moments...at the rate our government keeps proving it's complete lack of care for our natural world, who knows how long anything will remain. 🤎🫧🫶🤎🫧🫶

Last year I didn't see a single Eastern Bearded Dragon...this season I've already seen three in as many days....this big spunk was definitely showing me he's boss! An absolute stunner...I am absolutely not one for deliberate harassment in order to have the animal show their display but this handsome fella let me fairly close for some captures...I adore these beautiful reptiles....their was also a female present so hopefully there will be bubba beardies! 🫶🪶🦎💙

After a beautiful experience watching two Platypus in courtship ritual...this rival male entered the scene and created ripples...for the record she chose the original suitor and they paddled off up the creek for some privacy after the drama subsided. Hopefully we will see some puggles soon! 🤎🫶✨️🫧

I was blessed recently to observe our resident Platypus in courtship ritual. Initially I thought these were two rival males but after the intrusion of a third Platypus ( video to come) it became clear this was lover's play...what an incredible privilege to observe such intimate behaviour. Some people never get to even see a Platypus!
