Scorpio spark: back ✔️🦂✨

So grateful to be feeling the most ‘me’ I have in years as I enter a new chapter of my story. It’s been a refreshing but emotional feeling coming back to myself, especially during a time of celebration, being able to enjoy all I once used to (and more) by way of returning to the roots of what make a ‘good human experience’.

More self-care, more self-compassion, more self-love. Not in an absorbent way, but more an altruistic way, if anything.

The little girl waving back at the world with eagerness to achieve was hardened to step up to internalized ‘eldest daughter expectations’, which translated so far beyond life at home and ultimately created a crack that continued to weaken until it couldn’t withstand the weight anymore. Forget being there for myself the way I needed at that point; I couldn’t show up the way I wanted for the world around me.

I was forced to reevaluate, reroute, and truly realize that in order to pour into the world the way I strived to, I needed to pour into myself first. It always felt like there was something off about ‘putting oneself first’, but if *you* won’t be the main character of *your* story…………

Today’s #AkkaAdvice: Cliches are cliches for a reason — you can’t pour from an empty cup. Live more in the now vs. ruminating on yesterday and tomorrow. Right now is we *really* have, and what a gift it is!

Delving deeper into my passions, revamping where necessary, and exercising patience & grace on the journey made finding my way back to myself possible, and so rewarding.

I’m immensely grateful to have health, time, and passion on my side in this story, and I’m excited to see how the plot continues to unfold. To more life, more healing, and looking good & living better from the inside & out - together 🧡

Diwali wali season🥻🌹🪔✨

There are so many elements I treasure about our culture — the heritage, the arts, the traditions, the togetherness, the foood, and the immense amount of creativity overflowing from it all!

I know my fellow creatives get me when I say I strive to make as much of life a ~creative experience~ as possible, and that definitely applies to pulling together [cultural] looks.

This one started with raw fabrics I redesigned that were then mixed and matched, and if there’s a time of year I love to colour-drench, it’s now!!! 🎨❤️‍🔥

Making moves, moving minds, and minding me & mine 🪷

Looking back at this beautiful weekend with @phoilex.releaf @arabica.ca @strong_littleitalyto & reflecting on all the creation it celebrated; the creation of products we believe in, the creation of immersive experiences, opportunities to heal in more ways than one, and community that blooms from likemindedness.

As someone who believes a great deal of heart goes into good art, making an impact through creative expression has always felt highly personal. Sometimes that sentiment isn’t shared, but in rooms like this one, that felt like the baseline. Grateful to have had the opportunity to share my love for mindful movement by leading a group that’s also on a shared path of sharing their craft with the world. There’s something so inspiring about finding flow state, and meeting others in it.

Deep work + deeper connections impassion me and this day was one that highlighted both - congrats again on this beautiful milestone with @ultabeauty, @spssworld, & thank you for including me in it 🧡💚

Today’s #AkkaAdvice: We’re all creators in our own way, with so much to learn from one another, and if you haven’t quite found your medium of expression yet, I urge you to do some exploring to discover it. Life feels so much more mystical when you’re able to activate a childlike curiousity and love for creation again, and there’s always a sparkle of individualized magic we can sprinkle into the world—it just takes a bit of time and grit to unveil it 💫

Thanksgiving thoughts; grateful for everyday opportunity 🧡

Whether it’s through a smile, a sweat session, a slow glam morning, a swift convo online or in passing irl, or a sentimental shared experience, the opportunity to make a difference in both my life + others’ is what makes me immensely thankful to be here, and to be human.

We live through things, we learn through them, and ideally, we lead with love to spread our learnings in impactful ways. Grateful to experience the ebbs & flows and share as I go. Happy Thanksgiving from your fellow feelsy internet Akka xx

Something to take the edge off 🥊

I know my fellow movement fanatics understand when I say there’s nothing that gets me quite as charged up as an immersive workout; whether it’s higher impact or more restorative, I’m never too exhausted for endorphins 🤩

The soreness though….. that can def add up, especially with how much I’m moving day-to-day, so I put @tylenolcanada’s new Precise Cool to Warm Pain Relief Cream to the truest test post-class to help reduce the blow and get me back into the stu asap. Spoiler: it woooorks 😮‍💨
