Small elections have a big impact. 🗳️

Local elections shape the issues you experience every day, yet these elections are often decided by a surprisingly small number of people. Your vote isn’t just about politics. It’s about your neighborhood, your environment, and your quality of life.

If you care about the future of Rutherford County, don't sit this one out! Learn about the candidates, make a plan, and talk to your friends and family about the importance of voting on August 6th.

When I went to vote today, one of the @jerrigreen4tn signs had fallen down. I put it back up. Not all heroes wear capes, but I just happened to be wearing one at the time... by @rucodemwomen

Different parties. Same serving line. 💙

Today I joined the Lions Club in Smyrna to serve lunch to our seniors, and I loved seeing people from both sides of the aisle standing together to make sure our neighbors felt welcomed, appreciated, and served.

Our seniors have spent a lifetime showing up for their communities. They deserve for us to show up for them, too. Thank you to the Lions Club for bringing us together!

Now, Dawn White wasn’t up for a selfie with me… Apparently, bipartisan service was on the menu, but bipartisan selfies were not. 🤳🏾 taken in Rutherford County by @rucodemwomen

Running with an ad from what you said you would do 8 years ago in your campaign is a little wild to me, but I digress…

I’m not a teacher.
You are.

This paper needs some revision.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Explain why you deserve another term.

“Standing up to socialism.”
🔴 Define your terms. Which specific policy are you referencing?

“Taking on the radical Socialist left.”
🔴 Name-calling does not support your thesis.

“Stopping … illegal immigrant handouts.”
🔴 Loaded language. Identify the program, eligibility requirements, and actual benefit.

“Casting the deciding vote.”
🔴 Show your work. Include the bill number, date, and vote count.

“Improving Tennessee’s schools.”
🔴 Supporting evidence needed. What improved? Include funding, staffing, or student outcomes.

“Fighting against the woke socialist agenda.”
🔴 You’ve repeated your accusation without explaining it. Be specific.

“Protecting our communities.”
🔴 Explain how. Identify the legislation and demonstrate its results.

“The radical Left’s dangerous, soft-on-crime agenda.”
🔴 Whose proposal? What would it do? What evidence supports your conclusion?

FINAL GRADE: INCOMPLETE

Your paper identifies several things you oppose but gives voters little detail about what you will deliver.

I can give your constituents what you HAVE delivered, but I’ll give you the opportunity to correct yourself first.

Please revise with specific policies, credible sources, measurable results, and a plan for the people you’re asking to represent.

“Fighting” appears repeatedly. Explain what your constituents have won. taken in Rutherford County by @rucodemwomen

I’m humbled and grateful. 💜

This year I’ve been honored to receive recognition from organizations whose work I deeply admire:

🌟 2026 Linda O’Neal Lifetime Achievement Award, Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth
🌟 2026 Difference Maker Legacy Award, MTSU College of Education
🌟 2026 Janet Camp Award for Early Care and Education, Tennessee Association for Children’s Early Education
🌟 2025 Linda Gilbert Advocate of the Year Award, United Way of South Central Tennessee
🌟 2025 Outstanding Member Recognition, Tennessee Association for Children’s Early Education

None of these belong to me alone. They belong to the teachers, caregivers, parents, and partners I’ve worked alongside for years. They also belong to the children and families who are the reason we do this work.

I’m running for State House to keep fighting for them, and I’d be honored to have your vote. 🗳️

Rutherford County, it’s time to make our voices heard!

Early voting is underway, and there’s no need to wait until Election Day to cast your ballot. Make a plan, check your polling location, and bring a friend along!

Use this guide to understand who and what will be on your ballot. In addition to races for Governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and state races, there are also three proposed constitutional amendments, and some local races as well.

The RCDP EC strongly recommends voting ‘NO’ on all three constitutional amendments. Please read through our explanations on slide 4 to learn more.

View all early voting locations on the last slide. Vote at any of the early voting locations from now until October 29.

In August, we showed the entire country what we are capable of when we come together and show up to the polls. Let’s do it again for the midterms! 💙
