On our recent trip to Ireland my wife and I stopped at @holdenleathergoods because we love handcrafted items and this one happens to share our son's name. The women who helped us was both incredibly kind and patient. The leather crafters embossed extra items for us. It was a remarkable experience. If we had it to do all over again, I would have bought more items and asked for a tour. 10/10 experience and craftsmanship. taken in Holden Leathergoods by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 10 (last full day). Started driving from Galway to Dublin with a stop at Ireland's oldest pub, @seansbar for a couple of half pints of Guinness before stopping at the historic Guiness family home at @farmleighhouseopw for a scenic walk of the grounds. Ended the day with surprisingly good yaki udon noodles before reorganizing all of our luggage for the flight home. taken in Dublin, Ireland by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 9. Started at the incredible Ashford Castle. Step 1 was a hawk walk with @ireland_falconry , then afternoon tea at @ashfordcastle. Really unforgettable experiences. By then that Irish rain we heard so much about had finally come. We couldn't have been any luckier with the weather. That meant we were exhausted and ready for dinner and bed, in a very blustery Galway. Great burger at @caponesgalway. Standard Irish beef is cleaner, tastier, and beefier than standard US beef. taken in Ashford Castle by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 8. Started our day at Bunratty Castle (had to see it after following one of the Boys of Bunratty @eoinreardon_ all this time), stopped at @jillyandjoes_ for a very nice croque monsieur, before checking in to our hotel and getting in a few steps around Galway and its Latin Quarter. Finished with a nice woodfired pizza. taken in Galway, Ireland by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 7. We started with a walk through the beautiful and really quite emotional Muckross Abbey before making our way to Muckross House and its grounds. Finished a relaxing day at Muckross Park Hotel by enjoying afternoon tea, followed by dinner at Colgan's (excellent beef stew, supplied, like the rest of the beef at Muckross, by T Cronin and Sons right here in Killarney). Had the very unique opportunity to taste the very first batch of a 23 year old Irish Whiskey by Skellig Six 18, even being afforded the chance to share my tasting notes, which, once the bottle is finished, will go back to be shared with the distillery. We were finally surprised by an anniversary dessert plate. @muckrossparkhotel did nothing but surpass our expectations at every turn. They will be missed. taken in Muckross, Killarney by @rudigrrr

Ireland 2026 day 6. Started with in-room breakfast at the very best hotel, then made our way through part of Killarney National Forest, including Ross Castle, and the Torc waterfall. Also worked our way through part of the Ring of Kerry, including a great little cafe lunch spot, before an early dinner in Killarney. Really good wings, with a thai chili sauce served with blue cheese aoli, we think double-fried (so far almost every restaurant has had chicken wings). Lastly, a very warming and welcome hot toddy with local Irish whiskey. taken in Killarney, Ireland by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 5. Started with eggs florentine, then made our way around the Dingle Peninsula, including a stop at @holdenleathergoods. Amazing place, incredible craftsmanship, even better people. Finished with dinner in Killarney. They don't make views like this at home. taken in Dingle Penisula, Ireland by @rudigrrr

2026 Ireland day 4. Cass found the English Market in Cork (would love to have something similar close to us), grabbed a quick lunch, found out there is so much more to Blarney Castle and it's grounds than just kissing the stone (we skipped the line and the kiss, I did it all the way back in 1999), checked into our next hotel where we stay for 4 nights, and capped it all off with a wonderful night in the pub connected to the hotel. taken in County Cork, Ireland by @rudigrrr
