That’s a wrap

Huge thank you to The Asolo for having us — and to Sarasota for voting us audience choice for favorite act and extending our run. Endless love to our Director @theblakewalton, AD @robertjheath, producer/writer @arlucas2002, and to the lovely @madelineholdway, for the vision and writer behind it all. Till next time ☕️ taken in Asolo Repertory Theatre by @ruebrown_

Happy birthday Nani 🫀

Thank you for being my first friend when I moved to a new state, for always being such a bright, creative soul, and for being an avid The 1975 junkie like myself. I’m so grateful for all the memories we’ve made together. Also throwback to our high school days when we were just two little fetuses. It’s not living, if it’s not with you 🫰🏼 by @ruebrown_

We had 26 days. 26 days of no sleep, learning blocking, problem solving, and trusting one another. And somehow, we were able to create something so special with what felt like no time at all.

When I was an awkward 13-year-old and first listened to the album of Alice By Heart, I knew I wanted to perform it one day. No, I had never been a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland, but Alice By Heart was different. A story of a young girl who uses her imagination to survive the hardest moments of her life and never changes herself in a world that demands she be small and shrink stayed with me in a way I never forgot.

Years later, that dream that had always been in my heart finally came to fruition.

My heart behind performing and role I do is simple: to tell a story that moves people. To make people feel like they can escape reality for just a little bit to cry, laugh, or reflect on things in ways they never thought about before. My goal anytime I step onstage is to be as honest and truthful as I can. And that is the storytelling I will always chase. Alice By Heart is a show that truly represents what the heart of theater means to me. Moving people and telling a story well.

What made experience so special was the people I got to share it with whether onstage, offstage, in the tech booth, or playing an instrument, poured so much of themselves and their gifts into every rehearsal and performance. I am so proud of each and every one of them.

To the friends and family who showed up, supported me, and believed in me, thank you. Your encouragement means more to me than I could ever put into words. And thank you for letting me be my weird 13-year-old self again for just one golden afternoon

With love,
