It has been a week. Wesley had a successful surgery of removing his abscess and didn’t need to lose his eye! He was such a good patient while he stayed at the hospital for 5 nights. What a brave boy! Your mommy and daddy love you!

He still has a few weeks of recovery with lot of meds and things for us to do so wish us all luck!

Lottie got her ct scan and will need ear surgery very soon. We are waiting to see if our local vet can perform or we need to come back to Cornell.

She of course had stasis after the four hour drive up to Ithaca. Then got better, had the scan and stopped eating again. We can’t wait to all go back to our own home. We leave tomorrow! by @rueruerabbit

Day 5 of meds. Lottie is such a good girl taking all her syringes and she gets five twice a day. She actually asks for more like it’s candy. We’ve seen improvement today so paws crossed she’s on the other side of this stasis episode! by @rueruerabbit

Thank you for all the Wesley love from our prior post. Lottie couldn’t stand having Wes get all the attention so she decided she’d go into stasis on the car ride back from Ithaca (4 hrs)

She had not eaten much that morning and when we got home she didn’t eat all night. She was hunching in the litterbox so we took her to the vet the next day where she stayed over. We have her back today but not with much improvement. We are continuing the meds and have @rabbit.cat.coach on call for our many urgent questions and did a massage session with.

Besides the stasis, our vet found a large bump by Lottie’s ear. She said it’s common with lops and can be a backup of wax (more likely) or an abscess. Has anyone experienced that with their lop?

Thousands of dollars later, missed work, and sleepless times, I think buns r the most stressful pet. Definitely worth it, but definitely will keep your Xanax refilled. by @rueruerabbit

Baby Wes has an abscess behind his eye 😞 we went for a ct scan today at the specialist in Cornell. Right now it’s the size of an olive. Our vet noticed this in April because of his bulgy eye but we aren’t sure when it actually appeared. For now we are holding off on surgery to see if it remains the same size and will do a recheck ct scan end of October. These fragile little babies! We love you Wes Wes. by @rueruerabbit
