Those of you who know me well, know how hard it is for me to be idle. A few days ago I started building this bar unit for our home in Vermont. Tonight she is ready for opening night (minus a few hardware pieces). I’ve found the entire experience to be excellent carpentry therapy. I’m already dreaming up the next project... taken in Pownal, Vermont by @ruirita

My mom was well known in our extended family for making excellent Portuguese Sweet Bread. After she passed away unexpectedly, my brothers and I all tried to recreate the recipe using a combination of memories and recipes that we’d found in books and online. A few months ago, I was casually mentioning this to my cousin Dina from Portugal and she told me that she had asked my mother for the recipe and that my mother had sat down and written it out for her!

It’s with great joy that I can share this translation of her recipe. I can’t wait to make it myself. Thank you, Dina! by @ruirita
