A walk around 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone in Kaukauna, WI.

Perfect day for a walk and pictures! We’ll have to go back and do the other loops soon.

Final views while leaving Yellowstone…

While this was my second time to Yellowstone, there is still more to explore there. Sometimes I like to leave some things uncovered to save discoveries for a future trip!

It was nice to get a blast of grand nature for 2026 in! And the trip has inspired me to want to visit other national parks more regularly🌲⛰️

I did a quick wardrobe change in the car alongside the road where we (and several people) parked before we went ahead to see the geyser, spring, and pools at Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone, as it was turning out to be a hot day in Yellowstone after all. The breeze made it nice weather though.

We didn’t notice until the end of the day that it was likely at this place where we began developing a slight sunburn on our faces for the about an hour we were outside to visit this stop.

I got a video of the bird near the spring. The thermal pool was probably my favorite, although the textures and colors produced around the Grand Prismatic Spring was gorgeous too.

A nice summer day!

Saw another bison 🦬 on our drive through Yellowstone this day (snapped two pics through the window of the moving vehicle).

Chris saw this river from the road and wanted to stop to dip his toes. I would’ve normally done that too, but I was wearing booties instead of sport sandals that I do typically wear in all places in the summer. I did dip my hand in though!

This place reminded me of Germany. Beautiful sky, beautiful trees, refreshing creek.

Many were picnicing 🧺 alongside this water on picnic tables with their coolers and families.

We arrived to Yellowstone National Park just before sunset. I was surprised to find the lake, as I did not see any lakes on my first trip to Yellowstone back in 2021 (although it is a big park, and I didn’t have the whole day to explore the park the first time I stopped by). This time I/we arrived from the East, as opposed from me arriving from the North like last time.

I was happy we saw a bison 🦬 our first night in!

The drive in was not busy at all, as I assume most people were at their camp or leaving the park to go to their lodging for the night.
