For a while, I tried to fit into one box.

Music. Law. Entrepreneurship. Fatherhood.

The truth is, none of those alone define me.

I’m done editing parts of myself just to make my story easier to understand.

This page isn’t about one chapter.

When I was five years old, I fell in love with a soccer ball on the streets of Tehran.

At twelve, my family immigrated to the United States. Like so many immigrants, I had to learn a new language, a new culture, and find where I belonged. There were difficult days. I was bullied. I felt like an outsider.

Soccer became my constant.

It gave me confidence when I had none. It gave me friends before I could speak perfect English. It gave me purpose when everything else felt uncertain.

Over the years, I was fortunate enough to compete at a high level against incredible international clubs and national teams, and I was even invited to train with the Iran’s youth national team.

For a long time, I thought the only thing separating me from the highest level was talent.

It wasn’t.

Years later, I realized the greatest opponent I ever faced was my own mind. I didn’t fully believe I belonged. Looking back, I understand that mindset often determines whether talent becomes potential, or reality.

Every time I watch the World Cup, I still get goosebumps. Part of me wonders what might have been.

But another part is grateful.

Because soccer gave me something even greater than a career. It shaped who I became.

Today, I’m building SoccerGeeks.

Not because I wanted to start another company.

Because I wanted to give something back to the game that gave me everything.

For the past four and a half years, while practicing law full-time, I have had the privilege of working alongside an incredible team to build a privacy-first operating system for youth soccer, one designed to make the beautiful game safer, simpler, and better for players, families, coaches, referees, clubs, and leagues.

This has been the hardest venture of my life.

But it’s also the one I’m most proud of. ✨ by @rumixparsa

There was a time when travelers, explorers, and warriors crossed the world with nothing but the road ahead and a trusted companion beside them. For many, that companion was a horse.

Mine just happens to be a Toyota #4runner

As I sit here today, I’m reminded of something.

We live in a world overflowing with certainty. Everyone seems to have the answer. Meditate. Practice mindfulness. Do breathwork. Take psychedelics. Read this book. Follow this philosophy.

Maybe those paths work for them.

But I’ve become skeptical of the idea that any single practice can heal the complexity of being human.

I don’t have the answers. I only have my own journey.

Looking back, it wasn’t one breakthrough that was effective for me. It was the quiet accumulation of small choices, repeated patiently over many years: nourishing my body, protecting my mind from what no longer served me, therapy, books, yoga, daily exercise, breathwork, time in nature, intentional psychedelic experiences, learning to love myself, extending compassion to others, and finding the courage to rise after every setback.

None of these practices transformed me on their own.

Together, they slowly taught me to live in greater harmony with myself, with others, and with the natural rhythm of life.

I don’t write these words because I think I’ve figured it out.

I write them because if sharing my road helps someone navigate their own with a little more hope, then every mile has been worth it.

Many of history’s dictators were not born as dictators. Many began by speaking the language of civility, reform, and national unity. What ultimately matters is not merely the character or intentions of a leader, but whether the political system contains meaningful checks and balances that prevent the concentration of power.

When someone presents themselves as a transitional leader, the first question should not be, “Do I trust this person?” It should be, “By what democratic process did the people choose them?” Crowds in the streets, media attention, or public enthusiasm, however genuine, are not substitutes for free, transparent, and verifiable democratic consent in a nation of nearly 90 million people.

As an Iranian-American attorney, my hope is not simply for a change of faces. It is for the creation of institutions that are stronger than any individual. Before anyone assumes extraordinary authority, they should first present a constitutional roadmap: What are the limits of that authority? Who provides oversight? What prevents abuse? How and when is power returned to the people through free and fair elections?

History teaches us that free societies are built not on exceptional leaders, but on exceptional institutions.

Above all, we must build a country that protects every Iranian equally, monarchist, republican, religious, secular, or otherwise. Our children deserve a nation where their rights do not depend on who holds power.

As Alan Watts observed, the point of life is simply to be alive. To me, that also means feeling safe enough to exist, to think freely, and to live without fear. My hope is that one day Iran will become a place where humanity comes before ideology, and institutions stand above personalities. #freeiran taken in Irvine, California by @rumixparsa

Over the years, I’ve learned that music is only the medium. What we’re really creating is space, for presence, for connection, and for healing.

This weekend reminded me that when people gather with open hearts and genuine intention, something beautiful happens. Strangers become community. Sound becomes medicine. And for a little while, we remember what it feels like to simply be.

Endless gratitude to everyone who poured their time, energy, and love into creating this space despite all the unseen challenges. You made something truly special.

I’m also deeply grateful to @hamdelband for welcoming me so warmly and honoring me with the opportunity to perform alongside such beautiful souls. It was a privilege I’ll always cherish.

And thank you, @payaphotos for preserving these moments with such beauty. 🙏🤍

Last night was my first return to live performance after many years, and my heart is full.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, danced, listened, supported, and shared the moment with me. Your presence meant more than you know.

This feels like the beginning of a new chapter, one I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. I’m excited for the journey ahead, the people I’ll meet along the way, and whatever the future has in store.

Grateful. Inspired. Just getting started.

Maybe the Source does not need worship in the way humans worship kings, rulers, or authority.

That idea comes from projecting the human ego onto the Infinite, imagining ultimate reality as something that needs praise, submission, or superiority.

The deeper intelligence behind existence does not need validation from us.

Maybe it is more like a signal to align with, one that calls us toward truth, awareness, compassion, love, and authentic embodiment. ✨ by @rumixparsa

The more someone needs to market their happiness on social media for the world to believe how perfect their life is, the more you should question who they’re really trying to convince.

People performing happiness usually advertise it. Peace rarely does.
