Léicean 1, 2 & 3 from my show Idir Carraig agus Áit Bhog. (Between a rock and a soft place.) Wall mounted vessels in finely grogged black stoneware, slip and underglaze. @arcadedungloe @artsmarket #irishceramics #sculpturalceramics #rawclay #torontopottery #clay by @run_ceramics

Léicean 1, work inspired and completed during my month long residency in Donegal. The natural landscape of my home is endlessly fascinating. #ceramics #ceramicarts #pottery #sculpture #irishartist @artsmarket @arcadedungloe by @run_ceramics

A wee bit of throwing for a change. I had a commission for a large bowl this month so I made a bunch of bowls to try out some ideas. These will be available from @artsmarket soon #ceramicartist #irishartist #torontopottery #ceramicist #pottery by @run_ceramics

Wheel thrown vessel with Matcha shino and hand built neck. This shino needs texture to show off the green tones. It came out slightly glossier than expected and I’m not mad about it! I love the contrast with the bare clay. This glaze was a last minute decision and I’m so in love with the final result. Now, how to replicate that sheen again 🤔

Copper vessel with handbuilt neck. Speckled stoneware, glaze and oxide. The copper effect of this glaze has so much variance depending on the clay body. I love the contrast against the oxide stained neck #ceramics #irishceramics #torontopottery #ceramicart #CREmerging by @run_ceramics

Vessel with a wee geansaí. I love hand building texture into forms that create the illusion of other materials. Speckled stoneware, oxide and glaze. #ceramicartist #torontopottery #irishartist #uniquepottery #ceramics by @run_ceramics

Very obsessed with how this glaze performs under different conditions. Heatwork, clay body, thickness of application, all play a role.

Pinched form with a reglaze to improve upon a glaze I wasn’t happy with. I love the blue and brown like seaweed in the water. #ceramic #clay #ceramicart #irishartist #torontopottery by @run_ceramics

I don’t normally use such a bold red but I’m in love with the moody richness of colour on the outside rim of this vessel. I laid dark engobe down before the glaze and it’s made all the difference. #ceramicstudio #ceramicartist #torontopottery #irishartist #maycoglaze @artsmarket @maycocolors by @run_ceramics
