101.6 miles. 21 hours, 58 minutes.

Virginia 100 was a success!

I beat my 100-mile PR by 43 minutes! Despite running more than 70 miles in tropical storm rain, this course was absolutely beautiful. Seeing the mountains covered in the vibrant colors of fall was a reminder that even in the toughest conditions, there is still so much beauty to appreciate.

This was my 8th 100-miler, and I can honestly say I’m still learning, still growing, and still finding ways to get better. My carb intake and electrolytes are getting closer to being dialed in, and every race teaches me something new. The more I do this, the more I realize just how much I love the 100-mile distance. No other distance has taught me as much about patience, perseverance, humility, and what it means to keep moving forward when everything in you wants to stop.

Above all, I’m grateful. I thank God every day for allowing me to do something I love so deeply. I never want to take the ability to run, to push my limits, or to chase these goals for granted. Tomorrow is never promised, and I’m reminded that even the things we sometimes take for granted are gifts. If I woke up tomorrow and could never run another step, I would still be incredibly grateful for every mile God has allowed me to experience.

I pray He blesses me with many more years of health, strength, and the opportunity to keep doing what I love.

To everyone who supported me, encouraged me, or helped me along the way, thank you. These miles are hard, but the journey is something special, and I’m grateful to be able to share it with others.

Y’all, we’re so freaking excited to finally introduce our new 2026-2027 Team Run Bum!!!!

@ercanbrack423 @berglarix @whoislogann @e.dwindham @scottt.perry @keithempie @mikeyslater_ultratattoo @justinkarriker @bailey_tarvin16 @annamckinneysmith @_runner_ish_ @calebaikens @grady_gates09 @mrscottyt @jsmullin1981 @cas.eyruns @mg.bazemore @mipullen

We had over 100 people apply this year, and choosing our crew was no easy task. We looked for folks who have shown up at our races, put in the miles, volunteered their time, supported their fellow runners, and embodied what makes this trail running community so special.

We truly believe this team represents more than just racing. They are people who believe in building community, chasing adventures, lending a hand, and helping grow the sport we all love.

To our new team members: welcome to the family! We’re pumped to have y’all on board and can’t wait to see what this season brings. Thanks for being part of what makes Run Bum special!

And to everyone who applied, thank you! We’re grateful for the enthusiasm and love for this community. We’ll keep applications open on a rolling basis throughout the season, so there will be more opportunities to join the team.

Here’s to a new season of chasing miles, big adventures, good people, and a whole lot of fun. by @runbumraces

Race morning has gotten off to a great start here at Virginia Trail Running Festival! Runners took off on 4 different adventures, 25k, 50k, 50mile, and 100mile. And while we’ve seen lots of finishes in the shorter two distances, we’ve got a stacked field out there in the 50 mile and 100 mile races that we’ll be seeing come through the finish line throughout the rest of today, overnight, and into the morning.
