Ukraine: Atletik i en krigstid (Athletics in a time of war) The documentary I set out to make, and had high ambitions for, is now out. I'm very satisfied with the result, showcasing another side of Ukraine that isn't just war, destruction and suffering, but also humanity, daily day and hope. This is my personal contribution to the Ukrainian cause, and I hope I do you all justice. Keep in mind it is the first time I ever attempt to make anything even close to this. But I think it turned out well. Thank you so much to everyone who agreed to talk to me on this journey, I am forever grateful for your friendliness and openness. The movie is in Danish, with interviews kept in their original Ukrainian/English, subtitled into Danish. I hope the YouTube auto subtitles will make the ukrainians able to enjoy the movie aswell. I might release an English language version eventually, we will see. Thanks, and enjoy. Looking forward to hearing what you all think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05klne7tTdI - link is also in bio @ukr.athletics @danskatletik #ukraine #ukrainianathletics @tv2sportdk @drsporten by @runeclausen
Manden bag linsen! 😊 by @runeclausen

Just came back from the following tour with @gadventures: Pakistan: Karakoram Highway, Local Eats & Village Life 2 Weeks of hectic city life, the most stunning scenery on the planet, village life, and all the adventure one can ask for. Few long days of driving, but so worth it. Now richer in friends and experiences. What a wonderful time. by @runeclausen
Sacrifice. Daily ceremony in Lviv where one soldier is publicly honored. The whole city participates in the sendoff of the hero. The ceremonies are open to the public, and locals aswell as visitors alike are encouraged to join. It's a heavy ceremony to partake in. The air is thick with grief. Yet I would argue it is as good as mandatory to participate if you are in Lviv. Being faced with the brutality of war, and the noble sacrifice of all these young men and women dying to defend their country, and everyone in it. by @runeclausen
An ode to Ukraine This is my final night in Kyiv this time around. Tomorrow I journey westward to Lviv for 2 nights, to cut the otherwise exhausting 16 hour bus ride in half. And the journey to Lviv will be by train. This time gave me 7 days in Kyiv, and while I had a lot of hesitations about wheter to go at all, right up until a few days before departure, I am very happy to have gone. And this in spite of all my plans failing, and witnessing a lot of stressful things. The situation here is undeniably significantly worse than last year. Weapon technology has improved, and anti-air ammunition support has dried up. Yet I still saw a society that, for now, is still holding on, and refusing to break under terroristic pressure. But the winter is yet to arrive, which will probably be the toughest test of the Ukrainian spirit yet. Kyiv filled me with wonder, delicious food, anxious nights and war-time frustrations. And I only got a little glimpse into it. It's hard to articulate everything I'm feeling, but I've tried to scribble down some notes on the following slides. Kyiv is quickly creating a place in my heart, and I can only recommend everybody to visit this amazing city, and country, once it again becomes possible to do so, responsibly. Deeply symbolic, this stark contrast between normalcy and utter destruction. This picture is taken in Lukianivka district and shows people eating at the Lukianivka McDonald's, which is - fun fact - the very first McDonalds that opened in Ukraine, back in 1997. Behind is the burned out and destroyed ruins of the Kvadrant mall. This whole area, which also includes the Lukianivka metro station, and outdoor market right next to the mall, came under a massive attack by missiles and drones on 24th may of this year. Causing widespread destruction. This particular McDonald's has made it a point of principle to rebuild and reopen as fast as possible every time it has been damaged. To show perseverance in the local community. And that is why this almost absurd scene can take place. On the night to 7th October, Kyiv came under a massive missile attack. It's the first one I've experienced during all the trips I've made to Ukraine. I by @runeclausen

A glimpse into Kyiv life. Not to make it appear that life here is normal, because it is far from it. But beyond the headlines from the war, people just try to maintain as normal a life as possible, and cope with the stress and trauma in their own ways. Few glimpses from first day in Kyiv Very non-ordinary ordinary life in spite of everything by @runeclausen
