New single "MAGA HAT" out today! This song is an exploration of our current cultural moment. The song is as fractured, conflicted, and contradictory as the reality it’s trying to describe. Enjoy! Rune https://open.spotify.com/album/0SkYqZiUjHJ2lVUBA3Ktnb?si=rCo6lB-_ScyPF41jeZTH5Q by @runewestberg

The Prohibition @theprohibitionmusic has officially been put in the grave. I have re-released my album "Definitely X" under my own name. When I started releasing solo music a couple of years back, I felt like I needed a project name for it. I'm not entirely sure why. It just felt right. It no longer feels right, so going forward I will be releasing new music under my given name. If you enjoyed listening to The Prohibition, you can still listen to all of the songs on all platforms, just search for Rune Westberg, and it's right there. I'm working on a new album that'll be coming out in 2026. First song will be coming very soon! by @runewestberg

Barbara Morrison’s “White Boy Tunes” is finally out. This is one of the most important and meaningful pieces of art I’ve ever been part of. Barbara and I conceived and recorded this album at the height of the Black Lives Matter wave rolling over the world. We were looking for a way to understand the moment and try to build some bridges, in the world, and between the two of us. Musically and personally. We came up with the idea of having her sing some of the songs that formed me growing up as a young white male rock musician, and hear how the life experience of a older black female jazz singer would change them. It’s an exploration of gender, race, history, age and musical genres. Barbara and I discovered so mush about ourselves and each other in the making of this album and I’m so incredibly proud of it. This album has never been more important than in this current moment, when the USA is under the black cloud of a corrupt, incompetent and treasonous Trump regime, that’s actively trying to erase history and turn back the clock on all social progress made in the last century. This is a time to be brave and stand up for our values, not a time to cower. It’s a time to fight for the dignity and worth of all human beings, and reject the lies of an insane president and a rogue administration telling us not all people matter. History matters. Race matters. Diversity, equity, and inclusion matters. Black lives matter. Art matters. Justice matters. Rule of law matters. Kindness matters. Empathy matters. Truth matters. Everything and every single one of us matter. If the important things stop mattering to us, and we stop caring, we’re doomed! Barbara Morrison died just weeks after we finished “White Boy Tunes” in March 2022. So this album is her final words to the world. What a courageous, bold and meaningful goodbye. Let her example of bravery, integrity and resilience be a guide for all of us…. Tracklist: “Yellow” by Coldplay “One” by U2 “Heroes” by David Bowie “Come As You Are” by Nirvana “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed “Creep” by Radiohead “1979” by The Smashing Pumpkins “Bitter Sweet Symphony” by The Verve “Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. by @runewestberg
