As part of the Run4Breath Asthma Awareness Campaign, our team completed the Kaduna leg with the support of Run Kaduna Community, who hosted us for the 21.1km North-West run.

We subsequently visited Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital (BDTH), where the hospital management and medical professionals welcomed the initiative and commended our efforts to improve asthma awareness and access to treatment.

The Run4Breath team also donated inhalers to BDTH for free distribution to patients who cannot afford them, supporting both paediatric and adult patients.

We are grateful to Dr. Bayero Samuel, Vice Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State Branch; Prof. Muhammad Mainasara, Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, BDTH; Dr. Habiba Zubairu, Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee – Clinicals, BDTH; Mr. Tokan Chayak, Director of Administration, BDTH; and Matron Gloria Markus Anga, In-Charge, Maternity Ward, BDTH, for their support. They assured that the Inhalers will go to people in need.

Special thanks to Mercy Markus, Run Club Head, Run Kaduna Community, and the entire Run Kaduna Community for an outstanding welcome and for running with us for a cause that affects millions.

Kaduna showed us what community, healthcare and sport can achieve together. Every Breath Matters.

Tomorrow, the Run4Breath campaign will proceed to the ancient and beautiful city of Kaduna, where we will be running another successive Half Marathon.

The run commences at 6:00am prompt from GT Bank Junction.

We will also proceed to Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital where the outreach will be taking place.

It’s 5days to the kickoff of the Run4Breath Challenge.

On day 2 of Run4Breath Challenge, the team will proceed to Kaduna to run another half marathon. Kaduna state is one of the major hubs in Northwest Nigeria.

We will be doing this Half Marathon with @runkaduna and other runners who will be joining us on this cause.

We will also be distributing inhalers to beneficiaries after the run.

Let’s join our voices together.

We are proud to announce Run Kaduna Community @runkaduna as our Run Club Partner for the North-West Zone of the Run4Breath Asthma Awareness Campaign.

Run Kaduna Community is the largest running community in North-West Nigeria and the proud organizers of the renowned Run Kaduna 10km Race, playing a vital role in promoting fitness, healthy living, and road running across the region.

The Run4Breath Asthma Awareness Campaign is a 126km endurance challenge that will see Theodore Ogedegbe @onakerireme and myself run six half marathons (21.1km each) across six states in Nigeria's six geopolitical zones in six consecutive days (August 10 -15, 2026) to raise awareness about asthma and raise funds to provide life-saving asthma inhalers and essential asthma kits to people living with asthma.

As our North-West Run Club Partner, Run Kaduna Community will provide on-ground support throughout our Kaduna half marathon on Tuesday, 11th August, 2026. Their team will run alongside us, cheer us on, and help ensure a seamless and memorable experience as we take the Run4Breath message across the North-West.

We sincerely thank Run Kaduna Community for believing in our vision and standing with us as we embark on this journey to create awareness, inspire healthier communities, and give hope to people living with asthma.

Together, every kilometre brings hope, and every breath matters.
