My friends and I have run all over the world, but the Grand Canyon had been on our bucket list for years. All of us are over 50, and we finally ran it, from the South Rim to the North Rim, with our kids alongside us.

It was hot, hard, and everything we’d hoped for. Somewhere along the way, a trip we’d dreamed about for years became a memory we get to share with our kids forever. That’s going to be tough to top.

She clocked a personal best of 14:39.88 in the 5000m, becoming only the 9th American woman ever to break the 14:40 barrier.
