EDIT: I went to the support desk to follow up about this, and I was told that this e-mail was directed to some other employees. However, those people were hidden from my view and the message did nothing to indicate I wasn’t the sole intended audience. While I’m relieved I won’t have to personally purchase a television for my dorm lounge, I am rather unimpressed with the lack of care put into communication about this. What if I hadn’t gone to the help desk and instead went out and bought a new television? Please do better next time @westernwashingtonuniversity.

[Original Post]: Utterly ridiculous that @westernwashingtonuniversity expects me, a student, to purchase a new television for my dorm’s (@wwuhousing @wwusoda) television lounge because they can’t be bothered to maintain their own technology. I am already paying thousands of dollars to live here. The least WWU can do is to honor their advertised amenities. taken in Western Washington University by @runnerboy55.08

I do not appreciate returning home from vacation and finding this in the mail. While I appreciate the communication and transparency, I don’t appreciate the circumstances that necessitated this letter. I just don’t understand how the school system can be so strict when it comes to privacy concerns on almost everything that we interface with to the point that it almost becomes burdensome, but then something like this happens the one time we explicitly tell you to protect our privacy in this specific situation. You had one job here, and you failed. Do better next time, @portland_public_schools. We deserve better.
