Some adventures simply don’t have enough words to describe them. You have to live them. 🤍

Day 2 — Alta Via 1
24.41 km | 1,767 m D+ | 1,555 m D-
Rifugio Lavarella → Rifugio Lagazuoi → Passo Giau

A long day with some serious climbs, endless and technical descents, and views that make you stop just to take them in. The Dolomites reminded us once again why we came here. 🏔️

And honestly… some places are better experienced than explained.

Alta Via 1 — Day 1 🇮🇹

20,5 km • 1,636 m+ • 1084 m-⛰️

It didn’t take us long to realize Amalia made her first mistake of the trip. 😅 I hadn’t paid enough attention when ordering the new memory card for the Insta360 X3... and, of course, it wasn’t compatible. So all our plans for cinematic footage disappeared before we even got properly started.

Luckily, that was never going to ruin the adventure.

Day one was powered by Lemon Soda, Espresso, and more tiramisu than we’d like to admit. ☕🍋🍰

And somewhere between the climbs, the mountain huts, and those endless Dolomite views, we both looked at each other and thought the same thing:

It’s only day one... and we’re already in love with the Dolomites. ❤️🏔️

Pre–Alta Via 1 & Some Glimpses.

Apart from the finish line of Lavaredo 20K (and, of course, pizza 🍕), the real adventure was only just beginning.

One tradition Marius and I have started is exploring the mountains beyond race day. It all began after Transvulcania 2024, when we wanted to discover the island more and at the beginning of 2025 we planned our 1st multi-day adventure. This time, our destination was Alta Via 1.

The day before starting the trail, we drove to Belluno to leave the car, celebrated the beginning of the trip with pizza from our favourite pizzeria, and then took the bus to Carbonin, where we spent the night.

The next morning, we caught two buses to Lago di Braies, where the journey we’d been looking forward to for months finally began.

If you know me, you also know that I’m usually far more excited about the idea of an adventure than I am about the reality of carrying a heavy backpack for days. 😂

But somehow, those adventures always become the ones I remember the most.

This is where Alta Via 1 begins. Stay tuned, there are 5 days of adventure, trails & stories. 🫣😁

Câteva momente din NN Rotterdam Marathon 2026.
Some days we chase PRs, and some days we simply enjoy the run.

This time, Marius truly enjoyed his 7th marathon. It felt right, just as it was. Rotterdam won his heart—the energy, the crowd, the atmosphere… exactly how a marathon should feel: electric.
