One of my favorite sights along my daily travels is this rotted stump of a former post in a pond down the street. I don't know what its original usage was-a telephone pole? Part of an old dock? Whatever it was, it failed years ago and now stands slowly deteriorating, its function no longer useful...except that now it provides a platform for renewed life and new growth. I imagine a miniature world on top of that stump. Maybe a "Horton Hears a Who" world? Fairies? I often stop and just marvel at the wonders of nature. Rock on, my stump buddy. taken in Montauk, New York by @runninginmuck
