Another Shammy Shuffle 8K in the books. ☘️

Safe to say we all had a little Irish in us today - figuratively, and maybe literally, though I’m no genealogist so I’ll leave THAT subject to the professionals.

The Men’s side highlighted the day with a 6th place finish, sitting just 2 seconds outside of 5th. It was our best finish ever as a squad and we dropped our best cumulative team time by close to 30 seconds on our windiest Shamrock to boot!

Our Mixed Team ran tough, finishing 14th in a super tough coed field. Really proud of how everyone competed across the board today!

Iowa’s running scene has reached a whole new level thanks to the surge of amazing local clubs. Today was a testament to that and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

The fitness is there. Now we look ahead to some spring marathons on the horizon and plenty of races in the near future. 🖤🤍🖤 taken in Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle by @runningwildelite

WELCOME TO RWE, AIDAN! 🌽

Aidan is a Muscatine, Iowa native who spent his college days running for North Central College 🔴⚪️ He’s bringing some incredible depth to the squad, but honestly, his biggest running accomplishment might be his durability. He never got injured once during his entire four-year collegiate career!

When he’s not logging miles, Aidan is about to start working full-time as a Mechanical Engineer at Muscatine Power and Water, keeping the city’s electricity, water, and communications running smoothly 🔧

His long-term running goal is simple: stay in great shape post-college. Up next on his radar is training hard for the Bix 7, with a half-marathon in his sights in the near future.

Fun fact: Aidan’s family ancestry traces back to Scotland, and they’re hoping to visit soon. They might actually be related to Queen Elizabeth - which is perfect, because we’ve been trying to class up this crew of ruffians!

Give him a warm welcome! We’re hyped to have you on the team, bud! 🖤🤍🖤 by @runningwildelite

One of our biggest priorities as a Quad Cities-based race team is supporting great local events, and there has been a fantastic stretch of them over the last few weeks!

🎗️Run for Hope 5K (Coal Valley, Il)
Our crew kicked things off with a men’s and women’s 1-2-3 sweep. Kevin and Brenna led the way as overall champions on a scenic course dedicated to raising funds for Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities and supporting local families impacted by cancer.

🏳️‍🌈Pride 10K (East Moline, Il)
Max and Elliott took the top two spots. Both used the race as an uptempo effort to supplement their Saturday long runs, testing their fitness on a brand-new 10K distance introduced by The Project of the Quad Cities this year.

🍁Maple City 4 Mile (Geneseo, Il)
Out in Geneseo, Mark was the overall champion on the flat and fast 4 Mile. He crossed the finish line clear of second place by just over 35 seconds, catching the energy of the town’s annual Festival weekend.

🧩 Royal Ball Run for Autism 5K (Milan, Il)
Zach held it down at the Royal Ball. In a tight battle, Zach secured the overall victory by a slim two-second margin at an event that directs 100% of its proceeds to local autism awareness and programming.

Next up, we’ve got a big crew running our local Firecracker 5K & 10K on July 4th in East Moline. It should be a holiday sizzler, and we’d love to see you out there! 🧨🧨🧨 by @runningwildelite

🌊 DULUTH DELIVERED 🌊

What a weekend at the 50th Annual Grandma’s Marathon and Garry Bjorklund Half! The weather was fast, the crowds were loud, and the Running Wild Elite crew absolutely left it all out on the North Shore.

Mike fired up the morning in the Garry Bjorklund Half, dropping a beautiful 1:06:55 to take 19th overall! That’s good for #4 on the Team AT list and almost a full minute off his half marathon PR!

Cade clocked a massive 2:29:34 personal best, charging his way into the #9 spot for Team AT. Though it wasn’t the smoothest day by his own account, it was a gritty, perfectly executed race down Highway 61 when it mattered most.

Mary Kate ran with pure guts and whimsy in her marathon debut, rewriting the books with a brand-new team record of 2:49:00. Excuse us, Queen, you dropped this: 👑

The Summer Racing season is ramping up and we’ve got little tuneups occurring every weekend for team placement in the lead up to the Bix Team Competition! 🎷🎷🎷

Dan, Devin, and Steve headed to Galesburg for the Judy’s Pancakes 5K and went 1-2-3 in a blanket finish, with Dan getting the win in a sizzling 15:05! 🥞

Last weekend at the Steamboat 4 Mile in Peoria, Joe was the runner-up in a very tough, hot, and humid 15K! Kaitlin was 3rd in the Open 4 Mile and Max Murphy was 20th in the USATF 4 Mile Championship! 🚢

We’ve got a huge contingent racing 4th of July races and a massive crew running Moonlight Chase in Eldridge mid-July!

Welcome to RWE, Rowan!

Originally from Iowa City, Rowan spent the last four years running cross country and track & field at the University of Iowa while earning her B.S. in Human Physiology. She’s currently taking a gap year before pursuing medical school, but not before bringing some serious wheels to Running Wild Elite:

6k (XC): 21:47
5k: 17:15
3k: 10:00

This summer she’s got her sights set on the Bix, with plans to tackle her first marathon within the next year.

Outside of running, Rowan enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to Taylor Swift, eating concerning amounts of sushi and mac & cheese, and watching Studio Ghibli movies.

We’re excited to have Rowan running wild with us. Welcome to the team! by @runningwildelite

🌽WELCOME TO RWE, MADI SZYMANSKI!🌽

Madi joins us with an incredible competitive resume from Northern Michigan University, where she holds 8 school records and was the first individual NMU athlete to compete at the NCAA Cross Country National Championships.

Along with rewriting the record books, Madi is a 4-time All-Region track selection, 3-time All-Region cross country selection, and an 8-time USTFCCCA All-Academic team honoree. While she has dominated these distances, Madi is now shifting her focus to training for longer endurance events, including marathons, ultra-marathons, and trail races.

Off the track, Madi makes a profound impact on her community. She works as a pediatric nurse and, alongside her sister Izzy, founded the “Run With Your Heart” 5K and 1-Mile race. This event raises vital funds for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in loving memory of their sister, Ryan.

Outside of running and nursing, Madi loves hiking, traveling, and catching as many sunrises and sunsets as possible.
