What a week! I have so much to be thankful for. My running mileage is gradually going up, I found a new spot to train, I’m celebrating my 6th year of sobriety, and my rest days were truly restful. 🏃🏽‍♀️✨️🙌🏾

Six years ago, I was a functional alcoholic.

Numb, clouded, and unfazed. Now, sober and clear eyed, I feel everything deeply. Even in moments of frustration and stress, I choose to face life raw, striving to honor God through my actions and perspective.

I wouldn't trade this awareness for anything. Cheers to six years of sobriety and all the glory goes to God! ☕️🎉

I’m not trying to complain about the heat, but let’s be real. Let’s vent just a little bit.

I seriously looked up which area is cooler. 94° by the bay beats 102° anywhere else.

I really struggled on this run. I planned for 5 miles, but at mile 4, I felt like I was overheating.

Cooler weather, please hurry up. We’re ready to welcome you with open arms and start wearing comfy sweaters. 🤣 taken in Mission Bay San Diego by @runningwithescobar

No point in complaining about the San Diego heat!

I got my long run in on Thursday before the temps hit 100 this weekend.

I managed two more miles than last week. I think I'll stick to this way of building up mileage, just a small increase at a time.

I needed more gels, and looked up the best creatine. It's awesome that @thefeed had it!

I also picked up some other goodies to try for just a buck. I appreciate affordable options. 😆

I skipped a long run last week🤯...

and honestly, I'm totally okay with it. Even though I managed to run one mile further than last week, I'm definitely building my base a bit slower than I had originally planned. 🐢🤷🏾‍♀️

All I know is that I'm at least moving forward.

I have a great appreciation for Lake Miramar, especially because it features a dirt trail.

It was an intensely hot day at 92°, which certainly did not feel like autumn. Fall my ass. 🍂😆

Regardless, I still found it to be an enjoyable and much needed little adventure. ❤️‍🔥🫶🏾

Doing some Zone 2 training. 🐢

It's a slower pace, but honestly, this used to be my average speed with a way higher heart rate!

It was an emotional run, reflecting on how far I’ve come. ✨️
