Today was about the sidelines.

At the 2026 NYC Marathon, I found myself drawn to the people who weren’t running.

Friends making signs right there on the sidewalk. Families searching for familiar faces. Strangers cheering for people they’d never met.

And those brief moments when someone finally spots their runner, the shouting, the hugs, the laughter, the emotion before the race carries on.

Some connections were made that morning. Others went back years.
I went looking for moments of support and found them everywhere.

💯Ran NYC Marathon yesterday?! CONGRATS! 🙌🏼 Pain? 👎🏼

❌running a marathon does not = pain. ❌

❌Following people who have no clue to how to condition, program, or fuel = pain.

📣Thousands of people have come through the #runpainfree program; run pain free, walk the steps after, go to work, live life.

The more miles you run in pain, the less miles you will run.

Get the tolls for life to not only #runpainfree BUT, run for life!

#RUNPAINFREE RUNNERS DO NOT HIT WALLS. It’s called CONDITIONING. (And that includes fuel).

A “wall” is only existing for those who don’t CONDITION to run. Which is the vast majority of distance runners. Marathons have been Grossly studied, finding 70% of runners never training for marathons. All too common.

Second to that, is people listening to someone that has no business coaching, training, speaking on running…period. ALSO why distance runners have more injuries than any other sport. And no, ❌running 5-6-7 days a week is actually NOT training, it just breaks you down so you in fact, will hit a wall.

Sport science is real. And distance running is in a league of its own. It’s why NFL players have running a marathon on their bucket list.

Save yourself from HOGWASH. Credentials matter. Experience matters. And no, running does not qualify you to speak on running let alone train someone 💥.

🙋🏻‍♀️Over 30 years in this business. 20 years IN business. Worked with thousands of runners. And been saying this on the airwaves since 2009.

The injury cycle begins with the products you’re sold.
Running tells you what’s going with your body.
Free it and start fixing it.

Running what your friend is doing, downloading a general program or worse, you make one up yourself.
