Fourth consecutive Washington,DC trip (post young kid life) and first time as the trip coordinator. I had some really big shoes to fill in taking this trip over from our Grandmaster Bill Forney. I am so grateful to be blessed with such amazing colleagues who are the true heroes that put in so much effort, patience, and compassion to help make this trip run smoothly. Pro’s: absolutely beautiful weather, the best supervisor’s and chaperones, well behaved students (for the most part), and successfully changing up a few things. Con: directionally challenged bus drivers who did not understand the definition of teamwork 🫠. This trip was my guinea pig and will hold a special place for me. The type A planner in me loves this role. It’s stressful and overwhelming and there were many days I was on the verge of a panic attack, but crazy enough I cannot wait to start the planning for next year. Praise be to my husband, @mr.jarc, who was my savior many times. It pays to have a tech pro in your life who is extremely supportive, patient, and so very helpful. There were many days he provided a listening ear, talked me off the ledge, or just dried up some stress tears. Twin Tornadoes…Ignatius Hoco 2026 Edition. We went to the Art Museum to take pictures of Lucas’s group and all I got from Tomas was one picture since he was at a different location 🫠😂. Regardless, both of their dates were stunning! by @runrenee

The bittersweet intersection where your world gets smaller so that theirs can get bigger. Fourth college drop off…still not easy. I think, for me, it’s the realization that things change from this moment forward. Home is no longer their permanent spot. It’s the absence of the nightly wrap up of how their day went. It’s the change in the chaos level, with the house getting just a little bit more quiet. It’s one missing from the brother banter of movie and meme quoting.

Jacob, life at home will feel different without you there every day. Your instant “hellooo” as you enter the house with your positive energy, uplifting anyone in the room - I will miss the most. I pray that as you evolve into an adult college student, your light never dims. I pray that your joy, curiosity, kindness, and empathy will only get stronger with the many new people you will meet. You have so much to look forward to and experience. I am so proud of who you have become and the bright future you have paved the way for.

We purposely scheduled Jacob’s move in for yesterday so that we could see our niece play soccer against OSU. She plays for Kansas University and is such a fierce and strong competitor!! It was awesome to watch! Maddie Jarc also made the drive up from Xavier too, which made the day all the more special.

Today this beautiful young woman steps out of her “teen” chapter and into full time adulthood. I am at my happiest when you are near @maddiejarc, as you light up any room you are in. You have grown so much this year in your faith, which has given you the courage to get through some tough obstacles. Happy sweet 16 to our baby B (born at 12:02 am, 19 minutes after his twin)! It has been such a joy watching you on the football field for marching band and in the pit for the musical. Shining the spotlight on @lucasjarc1 who was given an award last week at his symphonic band concert and one last night at his jazz band concert. We are extremely proud of this kid who works really hard to excel in his art of music. It was such a joy last night watching him perform his two solos. Clearly, our twins have inherited their father’s artistic genes. It has been wonderful seeing both of them grow and develop in each of their individual passions this year.
