Top 40 in the world—what a dream🇵🇭 Not the performance finish I would have liked, but nevertheless I am overjoyed to bring our Philippine flag to the World Championships once again. I FINALLY got my 8 hurdles together—ran against a very tough heat in a sea of Olympians. So many positive takeaways. This isn’t the end of my season yet!! An appreciation post is soon to follow❤️

One month (as of yesterday) 💙

Within the two weeks, he's had doctors and emergency room visits for his jaundice levels. Between the heel sticks and the late nights of us being unsure which cries are for what, I've been waking up to this mini version of me and the love of my life.

Things I've learned with our firstborn:

GAS - The Robber of Joy and All Things Good
Babies have an immature GI system and it's hard for them to break down milk efficiently (leads to buildup of gas). Seeing and hearing baby Cassian battle gas demons broke our hearts and trying to find out which method works took soooo long.

PP DOWN - Where's the Fire?
We've had to change him multiple times because of this. I've only had a niece to take care of and I also only have sisters, so Cassian is the first boy I've ever diaper-changed. We've agreed that my husband will take over potty training when it comes time 😂

HELP ME- Help YOU
Accepting help has been difficult. And accepting that I need help has been even harder. When things get complicated, I like to take control, strive for perfection, and work harder. I've learned that parenthood doesn't work like that. There's been lots of days of uncertainty, body dysmorphia, insecurity, steep hormonal changes, and sadness. Things I don't feel often, but now appears often all at once. Learning that it's okay not to be okay continues to be a lesson, but I've been blessed with the support system that I have🫶🏾 by @runrobyn_

Though this pregnancy was planned, we weren't prepared for the emotions that would fill our hearts with so much joy and anticipation throughout pregnancy.

It's been wild to think "we're gonna be parents." We've wanted to be for some time; reality is setting in that this is the beginning of it all💙

Freeze prep Bulalo with me!! I was looking into high nutrient meals and I didn't find a whole lot of postpartum freeze-friendly meals that were #filipino. I love #bulalo and this would be so good for me and my husband to pop in the instant pot after our baby arrives💛
