Registration is OPEN for the 2027 @mandt_bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay! 🎉🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

On May 30, 2027, race day returns to Burlington with more ways than ever to take part. Tackle the full 26.2, be among the first to run our NEW half marathon, or gather your crew for one of the relays presented by @darntoughvermont.

And that’s not all. A redesigned course is coming for 2027, including the removal of every at-grade Amtrak crossing, which means no more waiting on trains and a smoother race-day experience from start to finish. 🙌🏼

And that’s still not all! Registration is now also open for the 2027 Half Marathon Unplugged, taking place on April 10.

Whether you’re chasing 26.2, taking on 13.1, or sharing the miles with your team, we can’t wait to welcome you to Burlington.

ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!

For decades, our community has filled the streets of Burlington to run, cheer, volunteer, and celebrate one another. On Sunday, May 30, 2027, we are giving you even more ways to be part of it.

THE BIG NEWS: We are introducing a redesigned M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay course and the addition of a solo half marathon.

Here's what's new (and what's staying just the way you love it):
- A solo Half Marathon. 13.1 on our celebrated course
- No more train delays as every at-grade Amtrak rail crossing is avoided!
- A clearer route with the best cheering spots intact
- The same fast, net-zero course with start/finish at Waterfront Park
- Relays, presented by @darntoughvermont, are still here and the 2 Person Relay is now more affordable
- The return of the Bundle to save when you register for the Marathon at VCM & Half Marathon Unplugged and a new Double to save when you register for the Half Marathon at VCM & Half Marathon Unplugged

Registration for every event opens October 1 at 6:00 AM EDT. Round up your crew, book the weekend, and get ready to run Vermont like never before. 💛

Meet Jordan Gustafson, winner of the non-binary division at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon.

Our "Meet the Athlete" series is all about the people who make Vermont's running community what it is, and Jordan's story is one we've been looking forward to sharing.

Jordan crossed the finish line in 3:18 to win the non-binary division, and they did it in their very first VCM. Jordan grew up surrounded by runners. But it was during college in Boston that distance running became something more serious. Since then, it's become a way to unplug, see new places, and find out just how far they can go.

That last part is quite literal. Jordan is working toward running a marathon in all 50 states, and Burlington marked number 27. When we caught up with them, they talked about that journey, the welcome they felt from the crowds lining the course, and what it means to show up as a non-binary athlete in a sport that's still making room.

"I just want other non-binary people to feel like they can do whatever they want to do... it's so important to see representation and openness, and whatever one can do to keep promoting that and moving that along is important."

Looking for the ultimate Vermont fall run? We’ve got the perfect spot! Head over to @yatesfamilyorchard in Hinesburg, VT for peak foliage, crisp gravel miles, and some of the best post-run treats in the state.

We’ve mapped out a beautiful 7.2-mile loop that follows the scenic gravel roads right around Yates. If you’re looking to go shorter, try out the 1.2 mile loop in Morse Park, right down the road from the Orchard. You can also find the owner of Yates Family Orchard, Jess; she’s got plenty of great route suggestions to fit your distance.

Once you’ve logged your miles, the real fun begins. Yates offers apple picking through at least the third week of October, plus you have to try their famous “Supreemee Dreamee,” a fresh cider donut topped with Vermont creemee, caramel, and warm apple pie (pictured above).

It’s the perfect place to score a great run, soak in the views, and check off your fall activities all in one go.

One week out from the Island Vines 10k, 5k & Youth Fun Run, and our shoes have finally dried out! ☔️

Massive shoutout to everyone who crushed those rainy miles with us and a huge thanks to our volunteers and partners, especially host Snow Farm Vineyard. The weather was fierce, but the energy was unmatched.

That’s a wrap on the 13th Annual Island Vines 10K, 5K & Youth Fun Run! 🍇

Year 13 brought a little less than the typical sunshine we get for Island Vines, but huge kudos to everyone who showed up and took the weather in stride. We’re so grateful to our participants, spectators, and especially our incredible volunteers!

A big thank you to our event host, Snow Farm Vineyard & Distillery, and our event partners: DonnaSue Bakes + Cooks, Greene Mountain Nutrition & Smoothies, The Hive Cafe, lululemon Church Street Marketplace, Paradis Sport, Skirack, UnTapped All Natural Athletic Fuel/Slopeside Syrup, Vamo Arriba, Vermont Flannel, and Wally’s Place.
